Discover these international Hilton properties for 10,000 points or fewer
While the luxurious 95,000 point-per-night properties are certainly appealing, they aren't the only way to utilize your points. You can transform a single credit card welcome bonus into a week or more of hotel stays if that's your aim. With international travel set to resume soon, now is the perfect time to check out some of the most affordable redemptions Hilton Honors has to offer.
Some properties on this list may be more practical than aspirational, yet others are surprisingly remarkable.
Today, we’re highlighting international Hilton properties. Specifically, let’s examine how many nights you can enjoy with the current welcome bonuses on various cobranded Hilton credit cards, along with examples of properties where you can stay for just 5,000 Hilton points per night.
How to Earn Hilton Points
If you're running low on Hilton points, there are several ways to earn more. One option is to transfer American Express Membership Rewards points to Hilton — occasionally with transfer bonuses. Another choice is to buy points during promotional sales. Lastly, you could apply for a cobranded Hilton credit card and meet the minimum spending requirements to unlock the welcome bonus.
If you're considering adding a cobranded Hilton card to your collection, here are the current welcome bonuses available:
- Hilton Honors American Express Card: Earn 80,000 Hilton Honors bonus points after spending $1,000 in the first three months of card membership. The card comes with a $0 annual fee. (See rates and fees)
- Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card: Earn 130,000 Hilton Honors bonus points after spending $2,000 within the first three months. Annual fee of $95 (see rates & fees).
- The Hilton Honors American Express Business Card: Earn 130,000 Hilton Honors bonus points after spending $3,000 in the first three months. Annual fee of $95. (See rates and fees)
- Hilton Honors American Express Aspire Card: Earn 150,000 points after spending $4,000 in the first three months. The card has a $450 annual fee. (See rates and fees)
The details for the Hilton Aspire Amex card have been independently gathered by Dinogo. The information on this page has not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.
How Many Nights Can I Enjoy with the Welcome Bonuses?
Standard room award nights begin at 5,000 Hilton points per night and can go up to 95,000 points per night (or even higher). This means you could enjoy anywhere from a single night to numerous nights with the current welcome bonuses provided by Hilton cards.
Hilton does not publish award charts, but you can utilize the Hilton Points Explorer tool to determine the maximum point values needed for a one-night stay in a standard room. In this piece, I’ll focus on Hilton properties outside the US that can be booked for 10,000 points per night or less. TPG's latest valuation estimates Hilton points at 0.6 cents each, making 10,000 points roughly equivalent to $60 and 5,000 points to about $30.
Hilton offers a fifth night free on award stays of five to 20 nights for Silver, Gold, and Diamond elites, allowing you to maximize your points during longer visits. To earn Silver status, you need just four stays, 10 nights, or 25,000 base points per year. However, Hilton elite status is also a perk of all cobranded Hilton credit cards and The Platinum Card® from American Express.
Here’s how many award nights you could enjoy with the welcome bonus from these cards (excluding points earned while fulfilling the spending requirements for the bonus). I will also assume that you’ll redeem your points for award stays in five-night increments to take advantage of the fifth-night-free benefit. For the Amex Platinum, I’ll assume you’ll convert the Amex welcome bonus to Hilton points at the standard 1:2 ratio.

Accommodations in Turkey
Having visited Turkey in 2011 for an extensive trip, I’m thrilled to discover low-category Hilton options in many of the regions I explored, particularly multiple choices in Istanbul. I'll begin with two properties available for just 5,000 points per night, followed by some options at 10,000 points per night.
Hilton Garden Inn in Konya

Hilton Garden Inn Ankara Gimat

For 10,000 points per night, you can reserve a room with one queen bed, with prices starting at $91 per night before taxes and fees.

Believe it or not, you can find an oceanfront property in Mexico and several centrally located Hilton hotels in popular Central and South American cities for just 10,000 Hilton points per night. Here’s some more information about these attractive options.

(Image courtesy of Booking.com)The Hampton by Hilton Bogota, Usaquen is located in the upscale Usaquen neighborhood of Bogota. The hotel offers a fitness center and includes a daily hot breakfast, all within walking distance of numerous restaurants, shops, and vibrant nightlife. For 10,000 points per night, you can reserve a room with either one king bed or two twin beds. There's also a large adult pool and a secure path leading to Miami Beach.

Achieve Status for an Enhanced Experience
If you're planning an extended stay at Hilton properties, obtaining elite status beforehand can be beneficial. With Hilton Gold status, you may receive upgrades based on availability at check-in, potentially to Executive rooms. Meanwhile, Diamond status can offer upgrades to one-bedroom suites. While upgrades aren't guaranteed and can vary in category, having status certainly increases your chances.
All elite members enjoy the benefit of late checkout, and both Gold and Diamond elites are entitled to complimentary breakfast for two every morning during their stay. Some properties feature an Executive lounge, which Diamond elites can access with a guest, even without an upgrade to an Executive room. Gold members may gain access if they are upgraded to an Executive room type.
You can achieve Gold elite status through the following credit cards:
- Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card (elite status granted automatically)
- Hilton Honors American Express Business Card (elite status granted automatically)
- The Platinum Card® from American Express (elite status must be requested; enrollment required)
- Hilton Honors American Express Card (achieved through spending $20,000 on your card within a calendar year, lasting until the end of the following calendar year)
Alternatively, to earn Diamond status, you must complete 30 stays in a calendar year, spend 60 nights in a calendar year, or accumulate 120,000 Hilton Honors Base Points within a calendar year (which is approximately $12,000 spent at Hilton properties). Additionally, you can attain top-tier Diamond elite status through the following credit cards:
- Hilton Honors Aspire Card from American Express (elite status granted automatically)
- Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card (for the remainder of the next calendar year upon spending $40,000 on your card in a calendar year)
- Hilton Honors American Express Business Card (for the remainder of the next calendar year upon spending $40,000 on your card in a calendar year)
If none of those options suit you, consider status matching to elevate your Hilton membership.
