Just in Time for Summer, Greece Lifts All COVID Entry Restrictions

Continuing the global trend of easing COVID restrictions, Greece announced last weekend that all travelers can now visit this popular Mediterranean destination—no proof required for anything.
Starting May 1, travelers arriving in Greece, regardless of their origin, no longer need to present a valid vaccination or recovery certificate from COVID-19, nor proof of a negative SARS-CoV-2 test result (PCR or rapid antigen), according to the latest update from the Greece Ministry of Tourism.
Before May 1, air travelers had to show proof of one of those three requirements. Additionally, on March 15, Greece eliminated the need to complete a passenger locator form before entering the country.
Vaccination certificates, once necessary for entry into various venues, have been suspended until at least August 31, when authorities will reassess their status. Restrictions on the number of patrons in businesses have also been removed.
Despite the lifted restrictions, a mask requirement is still enforced in Greece for all indoor public spaces, including airports and flights.
U.S. travelers should note that all international passengers aged two and older arriving in the U.S. (including returning citizens and permanent residents) are required to present proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken within one day prior to boarding their flight to the United States.
