Step aside, all-you-can-eat buffets: the all-you-can-stay resort deal is making waves.

Anantara Veli, an adults-only resort in the Maldives, is offering guests the chance to treat the resort as their own personal vacation haven – but it's not exactly budget-friendly.

Guests can enjoy special discounts on add-ons, such as Ayurvedic spa treatments, Maldivian cooking classes, and thrilling water activities like diving, snorkeling, and surfing.

Though the price tag is steep, it's still a fraction of what a permanent vacation home would cost in many parts of the world. Plus, it aligns perfectly with the Maldives' innovative new countrywide loyalty program set to launch in 2021.

In September 2020, the Maldives government unveiled plans for a three-tier tourist loyalty initiative, Maldives Border Miles, which will debut the following year.

While the exact details of the program's implementation remain unclear, it will feature Gold, Silver, and Bronze tiers based on spending, with each level offering exclusive rewards and benefits for frequent travelers.

Maldives, a nation reliant on international tourism, was one of the first to reopen its borders during the global pandemic.

The Maldives' dispersed geography, with most accommodations located on private islands or remote atolls, proved beneficial in keeping the country safe and allowing it to avoid the crowded conditions of its capital, Malé.

As per Johns Hopkins University data, the Maldives has reported 12,059 confirmed Covid-19 cases, with just 12 fatalities.
