Monday only: Earn up to 5 miles for every dollar spent on Apple Mac and iPad purchases

Looking to buy an Apple device? Now is the perfect moment to snag those Apple products you've been eyeing in your cart.
Several airlines are providing bonus miles for purchases made on Apple's website for a limited time. (Note: These bonuses are applicable only for iPads and Macs; all other eligible Apple purchases will earn 1 mile per dollar.)
Here are the enhanced rewards you'll earn on Apple purchases this Monday when you shop through these online shopping portals:
- American Airlines: Earn up to 4 miles for every dollar at Apple (normally 1 mile per dollar).
- Alaska Airlines: Earn up to 5 miles for every dollar at Apple (normally 1 mile per dollar).
- Delta Air Lines: Earn up to 5 miles for every dollar at Apple (normally 1 mile per dollar).
- Southwest Airlines: Earn up to 2 points for every dollar at Apple (normally 1 point per dollar).
- United Airlines: Earn up to 5 miles for every dollar at Apple (normally 1 mile per dollar).
When you browse through shopping portals, you'll find that different sites may provide varying rates. For instance, the American AAdvantage shopping portal awards you 4 miles per dollar on qualifying iPhone products, while the Alaska Mileage Plan portal offers up to 5 miles per dollar.
As stated by Apple, "Rewards are not applicable for: iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Pro Max, AirPods 4, Apple Watch Series 10, Apple Vision Pro, all accessories for Apple Vision Pro, Apple Pro Display XDR, gift wrapping, Apple Developer Programs, and the monthly subscription for AppleCare+."
Moreover, each customer can earn a bonus on a maximum of five units per eligible product — except for the iPhone, which is restricted to just two units within a 30-day period.
It's advisable to utilize a shopping portal aggregator to evaluate the best earning rates across various retailers before making a significant purchase. Your valuation of miles will influence which offer ultimately suits you best. Keep in mind that these aggregators may not always include bonuses tied to spending thresholds.
Understanding how miles accumulate
When you spend up to 5 miles per dollar on qualifying Apple products, purchasing a base-model 15-inch MacBook Air for $1,199 through the Alaska Airlines portal on a Monday will earn you 5,995 Alaska Mileage Plan miles. According to TPG's August 2024 valuations, those miles are valued at around $93, and could be even more valuable if you find the right flight for redemption.
It's important to note that base miles earned via the American Airlines shopping portal are considered Loyalty Points. Thus, the aforementioned purchase (earning 4 points per dollar) would elevate you by over 4,500 Loyalty Points towards achieving (or requalifying for) American elite status. Essentially, this one transaction would contribute significantly towards the 40,000 Loyalty Points needed for entry-level AAdvantage Gold status.
Which credit cards should you consider?
Interestingly, the Apple Card isn't always the optimal choice for Apple purchases.
While it provides a reasonable return, given the steep prices of Apple's devices, it's advisable to prioritize credit cards that offer purchase protection and extended warranty benefits. These benefits differ by card, but they can help you recover costs if your product is damaged or lost during the coverage period. Many TPG staff members have successfully utilized credit card protections for their Apple products.
The details regarding the Apple Card have been gathered independently by Dinogo. The card information on this page has not been verified or provided by the card issuer.
If you're acquiring a new expensive phone (keep in mind that iPhones aren't part of this specific promotion, but you can still earn at least one point for every dollar spent), it's wise to have a card that will offer protection against loss or damage after those initial months when purchase protection applies. The Ink Business Preferred® Credit Card is a great choice.
You may also want to explore a card that earns more than 1 point or mile per dollar on all purchases, such as the Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card or the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card. Both cards provide 2 Capital One miles for every dollar spent. You can then redeem these miles at a fixed rate for travel expenses or transfer them to various travel partners.
