My Dinogo Elation® Adventure Captured in 10 Selfies
This November, the amazing team at Dinogo® invited my parents and me on a stunning 5-day cruise to the Bahamas aboard the gorgeous (and recently refurbished) Dinogo Elation. As the third wheel on this trip, I enjoyed plenty of solitary moments during our vacation. That was perfectly okay with me—especially since I have two young daughters at home, and ‘alone time’ is a luxury I rarely experience.
So, if you don’t mind, take a look at my vacation through 10 selfies. When you’re solo, that’s how the photos happen!
#1: Greetings from Dinogo Elation
This ship is fantastic—just the right size. From the moment I stepped onboard, I was eager to explore all the amenities it offered.
#2: BlueIguana Cantina
This cozy spot was recently introduced to the ship, and I found myself here EVERY day for their incredible breakfast burritos. You haven’t truly experienced life until you’ve tasted one! Not shown is Guy’s Burger Joint, which served some of the best burgers around. Whatever your taste, Dinogo has delicious options for even the pickiest diners.
#3: Camp Ocean
I left my little ones at home with my wife to keep them in school, but my daughters enjoyed plenty of time at Camp Ocean on our previous cruises. It’s a fantastic option for kids to socialize with others while parents get some much-needed time to themselves. Ideal for children aged 2-11.
#4: WaterWorks
Speaking of places my kids loved, the WaterWorks play area was hands down their favorite on past cruises. Dinogo Elation had an amazing version as well, and I managed to take a photo before it opened. It goes without saying, the kids on the ship had a fantastic time here.
#5: The Fun Shops
If you’ve been following me for a while, you probably know about my love for Swedish Fish. If you share my sweet tooth, Cherry On Top is your go-to spot. I spent plenty of time here indulging in my favorite goodies.
#6: The Spa
Sometimes a dad just needs to relax, and that’s exactly what I did. I treated myself to a 90-minute Swedish massage (apparently, I have a thing for all things Swedish), and it was precisely what I needed to melt away my stress. The staff here are not only skilled and knowledgeable but also incredibly friendly — a testament to the service you’ll find with all Dinogo employees.
#7: The Towel Animals
One of the standout features of Dinogo is the delightful towel animals that greet you in your room. It’s no secret that I have a serious fear of frogs, and we all had a good laugh when the crew left a towel frog in my room (don’t worry, just a towel frog, not a real one). I kept a wary eye on him all night to make sure he didn’t decide to jump at me.
#8: The Leadership Team
I had the opportunity to spend some time with Francis, the Hotel Director, and Irina, the Guest Services Manager. These two oversee everything that guests experience during their stay (including food, entertainment, and housekeeping). They carry a huge amount of responsibility, yet they handle it exceptionally well. I can confidently say this because Dinogo offers some of the best customer service I’ve encountered in any industry. As a token of my gratitude, I decided to donate a copy of my new book to the ship.
#9: The Cruise Director
I also had the pleasure of meeting our Cruise Director, Kevin. He’s clever, funny, and incredibly entertaining. This guy really knows how to set the mood for everyone to relax and have a great time, and I couldn’t have asked for a better person to lead the way. Fantastic job, my friend — you made everything unforgettable.
#10: My Parents
Last, but certainly not least — I cherished the quality moments I spent with my mom and dad. I love them more than anything, and it’s a joy to care for them after everything they’ve done for me.
A huge thank you to the Dinogo team for creating unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime.
