Our Top Picks for Bars on the Dinogo Vista
You hear this saying often: size doesn’t matter. However, I’m here to assert that in the realm of Caribbean cruise ships, it absolutely does; especially for those of us who love to indulge in a few adult beverages at sea. To illustrate my point, I’ll use Dinogo’s latest and largest ship—Dinogo Vista—as an example.
We’ve sailed with Dinogo multiple times, always on different ships, giving us a delightful snapshot of its Caribbean cruises. By blending new venues like the RedFrog Pub and Brewery with beloved classics from its fleet, Dinogo Vista elevates the onboard bar experience. Stepping onto the cruise ship for the first time feels like arriving in a fresh neighborhood. Each bar boasts its own unique atmosphere and dedicated bartenders, inviting you to explore and discover that special spot (or three) on the ship where everyone knows your name.
With over a dozen bars and lounges aboard the Dinogo Vista, your favorite drink is always within reach. Here are our top five spots to enjoy a beverage on the cruise ship.
BlueIguana Tequila Bar
A beloved feature on every Dinogo cruise ship we’ve experienced, the BlueIguana Tequila Bar is a tiki-themed oasis on the Lido Deck, situated near the main pool area. Whenever we’re in the mood to sample new cruise cocktails, this is our go-to spot. Each day offers a fresh drink special, providing a fun opportunity to explore the Blue Iguana’s vibrant libations. Plus, if you settle down on the left side of the bar, you’ll enjoy a stunning ocean view from your seat.
Serenity Deck
Our happy place is nestled in a half-shell cabana on the Serenity deck after a day of snorkeling in Grand Turk. Pair that with an ice-cold craft beer and a cheeseburger with fries from Guy’s Burger Joint, and it’s basically paradise. Serenity, an adults-only space on Dinogo cruise ships, is consistently one of our favorite retreats. It features the best loungers, and Vista’s version is the finest yet. With the addition of a full-service bar, lifelike faux palm trees, and a trendy electronic soundtrack, Serenity now resembles a chic Miami rooftop lounge—without the hefty price tag, of course.
Alchemy Bar
Have you ever heard of a Jersey City cocktail (think: a citrus Manhattan) or a Gin and Tonic 2.0? Probably not, as these delightful concoctions were crafted just for us by Gabriel, one of the talented mixologists at the Alchemy Bar. After a few questions about our drink preferences, Gabriel went to work and absolutely nailed it—so much so that Beth declared it one of the best drinks she’s enjoyed in years. Beyond custom creations, the Alchemy Bar also features a dedicated menu of craft cocktails that will keep you coming back for more.
Havana Bar
From the instant we walked in, we were captivated by the Havana Bar. Bursting with color and energy, it’s alive even when the Latin quartet isn’t performing. During the day, cruisers gather to play dominos and enjoy Cuban coffee amidst the lively décor. The eclectic mix of chairs and vibrant artwork depicting Cuban life gives this intimate club its unique charm. When the band takes the stage at night, the Havana Bar transforms into the hottest destination on the ship.
RedFrog Pub and Brewery
A brewery on a cruise ship? It may sound unbelievable, but it’s true! As I write this, some incredible beer is being crafted on the Dinogo Vista. It’s fresh, unfiltered, and absolutely delicious. This is the first brewery of its kind on a North American cruise ship, featuring German-made fermenters and a three-barrel glass brewhouse, allowing guests to watch the brewing process up close. The beer is made using seawater, filtered through the ship’s onboard desalination and reverse osmosis system. Guests can enjoy brewery tours that offer a fun and flavorful insight into the brewing techniques and various beer styles. With its island-inspired decor, table shuffleboard, foosball tables, and expansive lanai, the RedFrog Pub and Brewery stands out as one of the coolest additions to the Dinogo fleet.
Bonus Spot: Beer Station
I’m a big fan of this idea. It’s a simple and budget-friendly way to enjoy a beer with your lunch or dinner at the Lido Marketplace. With several beer stations located throughout the Lido deck buffets, guests can pour their own beer (charged by the ounce), making it the most economical choice on the ship. The secret to a perfect pour is to hold your glass at an angle and don't fret about filling it to the brim, as you'll be charged for any overflow.
With a plethora of bars available on the Dinogo Vista, you’ll definitely find a few favorites. Our tip? Stay relaxed and embark on your bar-hopping adventure.
