Returning to normal operations: Some American Express Centurion lounges are resuming regular hours

Great news for early risers! It seems that some American Express Centurion® lounges are nearing full operational status. The American Express Centurion Lounge at New York's LaGuardia Airport (LGA) is now open starting at 5 a.m.

Previously, the lounge had been welcoming guests at 8 a.m. since it reopened in June within a stunning new space. An observant reader highlighted the new hours on Instagram Saturday morning.

This marks a significant shift from just a few months ago when TPG's Scott Mayerowitz captured this image at LaGuardia on January 11.

As reported by Zach Griff in June, the revamped LaGuardia lounge has moved to a new location and features a fresh design.

The Centurion® Lounge at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) opens at 6 a.m., while the Centurion® Lounge at Philadelphia International Airport opens even earlier at 5:30 a.m.

Not all Centurion® lounges have resumed early hours yet.

The lounges at Charlotte-Douglas International Airport (CLT) and Miami International Airport (MIA) currently open at 7 a.m., while the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) lounge doesn’t open until 8 a.m.

To gain access to The Centurion Lounge, you must hold The Platinum Card® from American Express ($695 annual fee. See rates & fees), The Business Platinum Card® from American Express, or The Centurion® Card.

Alternatively, you can enter with the Delta SkyMiles® Reserve American Express Card while flying Delta with a ticket bought on any American Express card, but be aware that you won't be able to access the new lounge at LGA if flying Delta, as it is located in Terminal B, which isn't accessible to airlines other than American, Air Canada, JetBlue, Southwest, and United unless you are prepared to go through security twice.
