Round-Trip Flights with Air New Zealand Starting at $975 for the New Year Sale
If your New Year’s resolution includes traveling more, a flash sale on international fares could make it happen.
To celebrate the arrival of 2023, Air New Zealand announced a New Year surprise sale on Wednesday, offering flights from the U.S. to New Zealand for as low as $975 round trip—but hurry, you need to book quickly.
This sale is available until 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on January 12, covering travel dates from March 27 to November 23, 2023.
The offers are valid for departures from select U.S. cities, including Honolulu, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, Chicago, and New York City, heading to New Zealand destinations like Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and Queenstown.
Some of the best economy seat deals include:
- From Honolulu to Auckland for $975 (or $1,125 to Wellington, Christchurch, or Queenstown)
- From Los Angeles or San Francisco to Auckland for $1,175 (or $1,325 to Wellington, Christchurch, or Queenstown)
- From Houston to Auckland for $1,475 (or $1,625 to Wellington, Christchurch, or Queenstown)
- From Chicago to Auckland for $1,575 (or $1,725 to Wellington, Christchurch, or Queenstown)
- From New York City to Auckland for $1,675 (or $1,825 to Wellington, Christchurch, or Queenstown)
This offer also applies to New Zealand Air's Premium Economy class for an additional $2,250 round-trip, and Business Premium class for an extra $6,650 round-trip.
All fares come with one complimentary stopover in Auckland, allowing travelers to experience more of Middle Earth. Additionally, for as little as $150 extra, passengers can add a stop in Sydney, Melbourne, or Brisbane, Australia, at the time of booking.
There are a few conditions to note. The fares require a minimum stay of seven days in New Zealand. The lowest advertised rates are applicable for travel from Monday to Thursday (Friday to Sunday travel is allowed but incurs a surcharge of at least $50 each way in economy, $100 each way in Premium Economy, and $250 each way in Business Premium). Certain blackout dates also apply, including July 7 through August 20 and September 15 through October 15.
It has been just six months since international travelers were allowed back into New Zealand. The nation had enforced some of the strictest border restrictions in the world when the COVID-19 pandemic began and only reopened in July 2022.
