Due to popular demand, Amtrak's buy-one-get-one-free offer on private rooms is back: Book an Amtrak Roomette and bring a friend at no additional cost. This beloved train service previously offered a similar promotion in early July, which was a hit. Additionally, we recently reported that Amtrak is currently providing double points on many bookings.

Roomettes are Amtrak's coziest private accommodations, ideal for solo travelers or couples seeking a bit of privacy and luxury. Designed to evoke the elegance of classic train travel, Roomette features and amenities include:

• Complimentary access to lounges
• Priority boarding
• Free meals for each ticket-holder
• Fresh linens and towels
• Comfortable seats that transform into beds (the top bunk folds down from the wall)
• Dedicated car attendant for personal valet service, including bed turn-down and coffee delivery
• Electrical outlets
• Climate control
• Individual reading lights
• Garment rack
• Soap and shower essentials
• Bottled water

Travelers opting for Superliner Roomettes will enjoy restrooms and showers within the same train car, whereas Viewliner Roomettes feature a sink and toilet in the room, with showers located nearby in the same car.

Worried about keeping safe distances while traveling? Securing your own private space can significantly help with that, especially with Amtrak's updated app providing real-time travel information. Additionally, Amtrak has adopted a range of measures to ensure the safety of travelers and staff, including:

• All passengers and crew members are required to wear face masks on trains and thruway buses, although masks may be removed in private compartments.
• Amtrak conducts thorough cleaning and sanitization of all trains before service, with extra cleaning on board to disinfect restrooms and high-touch areas.
• Capacity on most trains has been reduced to enhance physical distancing in seating areas.
• Every Amtrak train features onboard filtration systems that refresh the air every 4-5 minutes.
• Non-essential items have been removed from seatback pockets.
• Restrooms in each car are equipped with sinks for regular handwashing.
• To move between cars, travelers can use an "automatic door open" button operated with their foot.
• Conductors will announce information about disembarking to prevent crowding at the doors as the train nears its destination.

The buy-one, get-one promotion is available until August 15 on all Amtrak routes that provide roomettes, excluding Auto Trains. Travel dates are valid from August 14 to September 30, 2020, and bookings must be made at least three days in advance.
