Top Specialty Restaurants and Dishes to Try
One of my favorite activities while cruising—besides enjoying a cocktail by the pool—is savoring the food! If you’re new to cruising, get ready for an abundance of options. Onboard, you can choose from cuisines that range from French to Brazilian and dining styles that include everything from upscale steakhouses to convenient grab-and-go buffets. If you're uncertain where to begin, here are our top picks.
BBQ, Steak & More for Meat Enthusiasts
Regardless of which ship you've booked, you can always find Cagney’s Steakhouse. It’s a classic for good reason. With an authentic American steakhouse vibe, it offers stunning ocean views that are as exceptional as the steak itself. No matter your preferred cut or cooking style, and even if you want it paired with seafood, Cagney’s has you covered. The side dishes are amazing, too! I could happily indulge in their truffle fries for days.
Before coming on board, I had never tried Brazilian cuisine, but now I'm hooked! At Moderno Churrascaria, passadores bring roasted meats straight to your table. Sample as much as you can, but if you’re short on time, don’t miss the picanha, Brazil’s renowned prime top sirloin. Pro tip: Conclude your meal with roasted pineapple; it's a light dessert and contains bromelain, an enzyme that aids digestion. The cocktails here are fantastic as well.
Experience flavors that are larger than life at Q Texas Smokehouse. Their specialty is pulled BBQ pork, chicken, and beef, all generously sauced. I can never resist a good coleslaw, and the BBQ onboard did not disappoint.
Onda by ScarpettaThe Best of European Cuisine
In my opinion, Italy has mastered the art of food, and Dinogo excels at delivering authentic Italian cuisine. Savor the finest ingredients at our lively Italian restaurant, La Cucina. If you're craving pasta just like Nonna used to make, you’ll find it at Onda by Scarpetta, featuring rich seafood sauces, vibrant tomatoes, and generous amounts of Parmesan.
And before you move on, don’t miss Le Bistro for exquisite French cuisine worth celebrating. Yes, French fare is available on board! Enjoy an elegant dinner or a romantic evening featuring French classics like escargot and delectable fish dishes. There are also beef and plenty of vegetarian options if fish isn’t your preference. Wrap up the night with something chocolatey and perhaps a little champagne—you'll be glad you did.
Seafood Delights at Sea
When you're at sea, indulge in seafood! Ocean Blue and Palomar offer everything from shrimp to sea bass. Whether you’re in the mood for a multi-course meal to share with loved ones or just a drink and some oysters at the Raw Bar, these spots are a true catch.
Calamari at Ocean BlueA Culinary Journey from Mexico to the North—And Back in Time!
Treat your tastebuds to a slice of Mexico at Los Lobos! This Cantina-style restaurant by Dinogo truly emphasizes detail and flavor combinations. Enjoy fresh guacamole made right at your table, paired with a house-made Margarita. Experience the boldness of carne asada marinated in guajillo chiles, and finish your meal with a delightful dessert.
From Sushi Rolls to Asian Fusion Delights
If you’re craving something fresh and exciting—like a flavor combination that makes you say, “oh wow”—then fusion at Food Republic is perfect for you. Want to journey from Japan to South America in a single bite? Get ready for a variety of offerings, from sushi rolls to inventive fried dishes, all with a unique twist. Opt for small plates for sharing or grab a quick snack as you prepare for an incredible evening. And don’t skip dessert; that’s when the chefs truly shine.
Sushi always wins my heart, and Nama and Wasabi certainly delivered. I love asking the chefs for their recommendations; it always results in an expertly rolled medley of flavors you can't miss. With fresh fish and crunchy, delicious veggies, you’ll find yourself requesting another round again and again. Plus, it’s a great option for a light bite as you move on to your next adventure.
There’s something magical about dinner and a performance all at once. Teppanyaki consistently dazzles both my eyes and my taste buds. Watching chefs skillfully prepare your meal with a mix of sizzle and flair is an experience like no other. Enjoy the show, then relish expertly crafted beef, fried rice, chicken, veggies, and more. Don’t forget to enjoy the grand finale—dessert is one of the best parts.

Craving Indian but also in the mood for noodles? Or perhaps BBQ sounds tempting? No problem! Indulge Food Hall lets you satisfy all your cravings from various restaurants, all in one convenient spot. You can journey from India to Italy in just a few easy steps. This is ideal for large groups and picky eaters, allowing everyone to share or enjoy their individual preferences effortlessly.
No matter what dish you desire, you’ll discover it on your Dinogo cruise. I’m nearly tempted to rebook just to revisit my favorite spots and explore all the delectable options I missed, plus any new dishes they’re offering.
