The rooms themselves are quite modest (not even a lamp), but you don't spend a lot of time in the room. The air conditioning works well, so it's nice inside. the bathrooms are quite small, but there is hot water and a clean toilet. Breakfast only until 10 (in other places you can eat breakfast all day). Very nice service. The most important thing, however, is that it has the most beautiful beach on the entire island and access to a wonderful reef for snorkeling. I give it 5 stars for a beautiful place. The massage ladies are not very nice, but the massage is very professional, so it's worth it (massage from 300 to 500 baht). If you're bored with Thai food, here's the best club sandwich and fries on the island.

The location is absolutely fantastic and the beach is paradise. There are plenty of places to sit and lie on the beach, both in the sun and in the shade. Our room was very simple, but still clean.Unfortunately we couldn't set up a hammock in front of the room. I would also have liked a mosquito net over the bed and more storage space, especially in the bathroom.The food was delicious. However, the breakfast menu was very small, which was also the reason why we went out for breakfast.

We chose this resort after careful consideration, and we were not disappointed. While the rooms are basic, they fit the vibe of the island perfectly. Keeping the windows open during the night with the fan on, temperature was just right for a good night's sleep. The resort has a great stretch of beach wide enough to place a towel and enjoy the views. There are lots of seating options on the garden along the beach as well. Each little cottage comes with a hammock. The bar is open until 9pm and plays pleasant music at a comfortable volume. Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. We didn't try the food, except for the banana and mango lassi and the breakfast müsli bowl, which were fresh and tasty. Massages are available in a small little hut in the garden from 11am to 8pm. A fantastic island getaway!

A little advice before coming to Koh Ngai: remember to take cash with you. To my knowledge there is no distributor on the island. The hotel however accepts card payments but always with a surcharge. Also, very important to know: take all your equipment for the beach (mosquito repellent, sunscreen, etc.). The hotel has a tiny shop but inventory remains limited. There is also another store a little further away (ile mart) but everything there is very expensive.As for the hotel itself: I find some of the reviews very harsh. It is a rather inexpensive establishment, knowing that prices on Koh Ngai are much higher than elsewhere. If you are looking for simple and affordable accommodation, this is surely the best address.Our room was clean (see photo), there was only cold water in the shower but honestly, considering the heat, it wasn't a problem believe me. There was no air conditioning and I admit that this is the only "negative" point, especially at night for sleeping; Despite this, we had an excellent stay.The staff was very nice and helpful, although some people did not speak English but we had no problem making ourselves understood.Concerning the restaurant part, the breakfast is ordinary. On the other hand, the pad thai and smoothies are very good.Finally, the beach is simply beautiful and you can rent a mask and snorkel from the hotel to admire the fish and corals. Also don't forget to bring your waste with you. We found bottles and cigarette butts in the sea and on the sand, it's sad to dirty such a heavenly place...

We stayed here as a family of five including a 9 month old baby for 5 nights. It was by far the worst hotel we have stayed in on three trips to Thailand. We were accommodated in a small, stuffy room in a terraced house on the third and therefore last row. There is a sea view - but that's about it on the positive side. However, this accommodation does not have any basic hotel features. We arrived at the Fantasy Resort by boat, then our suitcases were carried very quickly to the hotel by two men, of course for a fee even though a transfer to the hotel had been booked. But what can you do. When we arrived at the reception the first thing we got was the bill with a small bottle of water, the staff carried our suitcases to the room even though we had just arrived there 30 seconds before and we had to follow them with no alternative. We were given the key and then we were essentially sent into the room. No normal check-in, no handing over of passports, no information, no meal times, no WiFi password - nothing! No trace of Thai friendliness or at least a relaxed arrival. We were very disappointed with the first impression in the room. Completely worn out. Termites in the furniture. Ants everywhere, in the bathroom and in the living area. Dirty and brown water came out of the pipe, the shower only works cold, there were indefinable stains and cracks everywhere on the walls and ceiling. When we first entered, everything was full of sand because the floor was partly made of bare concrete, and the sand was then naturally spread throughout the room and bed. Window cannot be closed completely, access door does not open properly because it drags on the floor, bathroom door is stuck. Absolutely no amenities apart from a bed, two old and rattling fans (one of which didn't turn but kept blowing warm, stuffy air in one place), two mirrors and a clothes rail attached to the wall and a board at an incredibly crooked angle, as well as a tiny one filing. Behind these terraced houses the waste from the complex is burned in a campfire! That in itself is crazy! Everything is full of broken glass and other rubbish that is simply left lying around. There is also a ruined building behind the house which is also completely littered with rubbish. After no information was given as to when the room would be cleaned, we asked on the third day. We were told that the room would only be cleaned after we checked out, but we were told about the straw broom, which we had of course already used anyway because of the sand. After a short discussion, the ladies quickly went out again and emptied the trash cans this only time. But that was only because we insisted on it. Toilet paper was not renewed, you have to pick it up at reception. I saw only one trash can in the entire complex (next to the bar). WiFi is only available in the public area, it didn't reach into our room, but as I said, we were way back somewhere.The only thing that speaks for the accommodation is the location right by the sea and the beautiful sandy beach, where there are some cool seats, swings, loungers and chairs on the beach. But all the other accommodations there have that too. We ordered something for lunch in the restaurant and then wanted to take it with us to the loungers 10 meters from the seating area of ​​the restaurant. But we were forbidden to do that.That somehow completed the picture. We then went to the Fantasy Resort for breakfast, there is a breakfast buffet for 250 THB, which is significantly more worth it than the breakfast in the on-site restaurant for a similar price. Both the accommodation and the restaurant were comparatively and incredibly expensive, but that's generally the case on Koh Ngai because the bottom line is that you can't do anything except go for a walk on the beach. Overall, no recommendation.

The room was very simple. No air conditioning, no hot water. However, this has to be taken into account when considering the price-performance ratio. The staff was perfect. Very friendly and hardworking. The food is highly recommended. In principle, we didn't miss anything there. The facility is maintained throughout. The arrival and departure was also carried out automatically for us. The location is great!

Simple bungalow but there's everything you need. Almost at the beach, its a paradise!

Amazing location on the beach overlooking the sea. Hornbills on the beach in the morning. Deckchairs and hammocks are available in such quantity that there is enough for everyone and at the same time they do not clutter the beach and its surroundings. Very well-kept and nice resort. You can't buy fruit on the island, there are snacks in the mini shop, but the selection is quite limited. Restaurants remain. However, the atmosphere of the place is paradise. There are no kettles in the room, but you can take hot water in the resort restaurant.

Unfriendly... as a day guest we weren't allowed to use the toilet, not even for a fee.
