Merendeng Hostel

Rooms were very basic, with no hand soap or shower gel provided. Aircon didn't work properly and splashed water at us when we turned it on. We had paid for a double room but, in fact, got two single beds pushed together, which was extremely uncomfortable if in the middle and obviously not what we paid for nor would have booked this if it was said 2 beds so pretending to offer something it doesn't. There was no hot water in the shower. Literally wasnt even an option there was no switch to even try change to hot water it was just turn the tap and cold water came out. There are 2 cats lurking around that kept trying to get into our room, which was incredibly annoying. The water refill station was empty half the time.We also noticed that staff had been in our room but not sure why. They emptied the bin but didn't dress the bed. Not sure the reasoning as they never asked permission and felt as if they were trying to be secretive by not dressing the beds that they'd been in but that if we had noticed they could say the emptied the bin. First time in our 6 months travelling that staff have gone into our room without asking, and secondly to just changing bins and not dressed in bed just didn't seem to add up. They also went around and threw out some of our bottles, which we were keeping to refill, which again we hadn't given permission to do.All just felt a bit sketchy overall and were glad we had all our valuables locked away. Given that the price isn't actually that cheap, there is definitely better value accommodation to be found with a better service offered.

This hotel is well located, the rooms are basic.The employees are very nice. We had a reservation problem but it was resolved very quickly.I recommend

The room is super clean. Quite and good for resting. The location also near the Kuta centre. Owner and staff very friendly. Suggestion: free breakfast will be great.

The owner's mother is very friendly, the room is clean and neat, the bathroom is quite clean, the air conditioning also works well. If I go to Kuta again, I will definitely stay here again, the price is cheap and cheerful😁

Let me clarify: it has air conditioning and wifi. Simple place but with everything you need for a nice stay. And the staff carry it out excellently, always pleasant and very attentive.
