Charming cabins next to the natural park. We were looking for a more authentic place to see orangutans in complete freedom and respectful of the animals and the environment. Great local food, great cabins and we felt very welcomed by Jason and Marta's family. The trekking was also recommended, Jason and Maguan worried at all times that we were well and enjoyed it.100% recommended

I spent to lovely nights at this peaceful location. After coming from the bustle & hustle this place feels heavenly calm. It’s just a river crossing from the jungle away. I could hear so many animals plus the rain while going to sleep which felt like camping with the comfort of having your own hut, a western toilet & a shower.The meals provided were delicious. Fresh fruits for breakfast and after dinner every day with pineapples from their own garden. The prices for some foods are quiet high compared to what you get from warungs or food stalls at other Indonesian locations but then again most of the ingredients need to be brought all the way to the jungle huts.Talking about location - if you look for peace & quiet this is the place for you. I enjoyed not having any distractions or working cell service. If you don’t speak Indonesian it can get a bit tricky since the people running the place only speak very little English but luckily I could rely on my guide for any questions.Getting to Sumatra Jungle Huts takes a bit more time than to Bukit Lawang & was a bit pricey especially for the last bit of the journey.I did their one day jungle tour which was amazing. I learned so much from Togar, my tour guide, who was also the person who managed everything else around my stay when I was there since he was the only one speaking English. He went above and beyond to make my time there memorable.All in all I would do it all over again and would totally recommend staying at this place.

The location is incredible, next to a beautiful river and literally meters from the national park. The cabins and facilities in general, very well maintained and the experience wonderful.If you stay calm and observe, you can see little animals jumping over the trees. Plus, the cuisine they make is incredible, and it's local.The team is wonderful, you feel welcomed from the first moment!!!!!Thanks Marta, Jason, Kaka... I knew I will love this place, but I couldn’t imagine that it will be one of the best experiences of my life… I left a piece of my heart in the jungle in Sumatra.The bungalow was very comfortable, nice and spacious, decorated with a great taste and everything handmade, including even the soap.The food cooked by Kaka is one of the best I tried in Indonesia… and always beautifully decorated with local flowers.The excursions organised were amazing, I had a chance to sleep in the jungle, meet orangutans in their natural habitat, as well as different kind of monkeys and other animals from the national park. Swimming in the river, visiting the caves and hot springs, walking through the rainforest… it felt like a dream and I can’t stop thinking that I haven’t felt this free and genuinely happy since I was a child.The guides and everyone who I met there were very respectful with the nature, really cared about preserving the jungle and the animals. There are different conservation projects in this area, and it was very interesting to know about Sumatra Dream Class and learn about palm oil tree problem from Santa. You can also collaborate with this project by planting a tree, which I did too.However, the most important part of this experience were the people, that make you feel at home, welcome you to their culture and take a great care of you at every moment. Marta, Jason, Santa, Riki, Kaka, Manta and everyone I met were incredible, I can’t thank them enough for making me feel so great there.After Sumatra I went to Bali and Java and was supposed to go to Bali again, but I decided to lose my ticket and went back to Sumatra instead, and of course I didn’t regret it a minute. Now I can’t wait to come back again, hopefully, in a few months!

It is a spectacular place. We have enjoyed trekking through the jungle like children. 100% adventure, without crappy tourism. The guides are incredible and so is the accommodation. MAXIMUM RECOMMENDED

Amazing place ! From the moment you arrive, this is a truly unique wonderland. The huts are jungle luxury where you feel you are a part of nature in a safe and beautiful escape. Marta and Jason are so warm, welcoming and friendly, extremely helpful with everything, the good is delicious and surrounds indescribable. Highly recommend!!

If you wanna reconnect to the source of life and experience amazing jungle trekking, search no more!These jungle bungalows are amazing setting in the middle of the Sumatran jungle, surrounded by rivers and the nourishing sounds of Mother Nature 💓Marta and Jason will guide you through the forest and if you are lucky as I was, you will get to pick up the sweetest fruits that grow in their garden! 🥰

We had such a great time in Batu Rongring. Our room was beautiful and very clean but the best experience was definently jungle trek with Jason (and Marta who joined us). We learned and saw so much, it was a most special experience. Cant wait to come back one day!

I absolutely loved staying with Marta and Jasson! They are not only great hosts but built up a small paradise in the middle of the jungle! You'll wake up to jungle and river sounds, can take a bath in the crystal clear waters of the river, Jasson will treat you to freshly spearfished fish (such an experience) and you can learn so much from him about the local wildlife as he is a Ranger himself. This is probably the most authentic and back to nature experience you'll ever get! I can't wait to be back in paradise 😍

Highly recommended!The accomodation is so nice, you are in the middle of the nature but with all the facilities, Jason and Marta are a really good hosts, they speak English, Indonesian and Spanish.I did one of the trekkings and It was an unique experience :)
