One of the worst treatments we have ever received. We stayed for 5 days at Villa Ratna and on the day of our arrival they told us that our rooms were occupied and they had to relocate us. Far from apologizing or looking for a solution for us, the host Ratna was despotic and threatening, and finally seeing the error, she granted us a 15% discount. When it came time to pay that discount, I didn't know if it was applied and when we reminded her of this, she became threatening and aggressive again, to the point of recording us with her cell phone while insulting us. We didn't have any problems with the staff or the villas (although the cleanliness could improve and some things didn't work), but Ratna's treatment was something I had never seen before. I recommend not booking in this villa because perhaps when you arrive you will not have your room and the solution that the owner is going to give you is none.

A very bad experience with the Ratna villas, specifically with the owner. We came to Bali for my sister's wedding as a group of 12 people, we booked the large villa 2 months in advance so we could all be in the same space and when we arrived it was occupied by other people "double booking". When we arrived we tried to resolve the problem with the owner and received disrespectful, despotic and even violent treatment. At no point did he admit that we were right or even try to compensate us. We were relocated to other rooms the first night, some of which had bed bug bites and serious cleaning and maintenance issues. To make matters worse, despite having paid for all the rooms at the end of our stay, booking has charged us again, probably because the owner, after several complaints and discussions, has decided to say that we left without paying. A complete injustice. I do not recommend this place at all, even though it is nice and pleasant, if any problem arises, dealing with the owner is going to be horrible.

Stayed for two days on November 19th and 20th. Very pleased. The rooms and linen are clean, the cleaning is high quality. The area is well-groomed, atmospheric, cozy, modern design, made with a shower. Convenient location, close to shops, laundry, bike rental, cafes, restaurants, Antonio Blanca Museum. Away from the expensive noise, the sounds of nature are magical.

The property is good for a break from chaos, although it's quite far from the main road. There are 2 warungs to eat but the other option is only Grab. You have to walk for atleast 10 mins from taxi stand to the Villa beacuse no taxi is allowed till the stay.The only issue we found was the maintenance of the property, its literally jungle surrounding the property as a result we found cockroaches on our bed and room at night. I couldn’t sleep for the whole night. Cockroaches were roaming on the mosquito net, beds, bathroom and then we have lizards everywhere. I understand the lizards its common in Bali, but cockroached was not acceptable for me after staying at islands like Gili T and Nusa Penida. Although I still recommend if you're fine with it.

Ratna room 6 and Villa 1.Now that I’ve been here I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Ubud. Ratna’s Homestays have been the best accommodations I have had in the two weeks I’ve been here on Bali. The location is great. Tucked down a little road that only allows motos and pedestrians. This makes for longer walks to and from town but it takes you away from the noises of the main streets like cars and honking. It has a small village vibe but only a short walk into town. Renting a scooter gives you easy access in and out or the short walk every day is nice too. My first stay with them was in the shared building which has six units. They are basic with just bedroom, bathroom and deck but it is clean, you get a stove top burner, pans to cook with, plates and silver wear and a mini fridge stocked with beverages. The bathroom is beautiful with stone floor in the shower and a nice toilet with bidet and toilet paper available. The bed is very comfortable and the front porch has a beautiful view and access to the common area pool. The following week I returned and rented a private villa which was even more amazing. Same style of architecture and interior design but it was a one bedroom with a large bathroom, full kitchen, living room with two couches and dining room table, a yard with a private pool, lounge chairs and a little pagoda to sit and relax in the shade. Highly recommended to splurge and go with the villa if you are traveling with more than one person. Ratna operates the Homestay, a laundromat, a convenience store and a moto rental so it is a one stop shop for everything you need in Ubud and there are discounts if you are staying at the Homestay. Conveniently located close to monkey forest, downtown Ubud, great restaurants, lots of shopping, spa services and lots of other fun adventures.

My partner and I originally planned to stay for three nights but had to extend it to four. We were injured in a motorbike accident and were unable to leave the hotel on our own. Ratna staff pleasantly surprised us with the level of HELP they provided. The lady would call on her staff to transport us anywhere we needed to go. I was on crutches, and the staff helped me get to my room safely. She would bring us beverages and bakery as a kind gesture and did her best to assist us in any way she could.You can have the best hotels and the best location, but nothing matches being alone in a country needing help and you know no one but then having people with the sweetest hearts give their time and effort to ensure you continue to enjoy your holiday. That is the most important thing. I would want to return here, and I appreciate everything they did for us. Thank you!!

Ratna Villa 4:I would not recommend this stay.Even the staff don't speak English they make their best for you to make a good stay. They call the boss of the Villa when I arrived and let them know about what was happening.They gave me one room that was not on the pictures of booking and doesn't worth the money they payed for it. No views at all from the room. It was full of insects everywhere in the room and in the bed. The two large broken windows and one of them has rust. I had a call with the boss of the Villa and he didn't come with any solution, he was so rude and mean. I had to ended up fixing one of the windows with one guy of the staff so that it would not be dangerous and cut me with the rusty aluminum.

Villa was very clean, comfortable in a beautiful setting. The villa provided an easy view of the young one whilst he played in the water, giving mum and I some time to sit and relax. The staff were very friendly and accommodating to our needs. Highly recommend especially for young children

I love this villa. I stay at the wooden house and it was lovely. The staffs are super friendly and helpful, they also provide good service. Highly recommend if you’re stay alone and need some private space.

3 night stay in Ratna Villa 4. Very quiet location, pleasant room with good bedding and a fridge with cold drinks. Uncrowded and pleasant swimming pool. Several warung nearby for meals. The only drawback is that it is at the bottom of a very small street, so it is best to rent a scooter to get around, but this location guarantees absolute calm. We found this place very relaxing after a few days in Kuta.
