It's simple. Why pick anywhere else? Great reef for snorkelling right opposite the homestay, they're linked into Corepen for diving (Maria and the team were fantastic. My friend had never dived before so we went to a couple of easy sites to start. They apologised that we didn't see many fish. For me I'd never seen so many!!), the food is delicious, the amenities basic (but don't you want that when you're in an idyllic and secluded paradise!?), and Lina and Arnes are just wonderful. They don't speak much English so make sure you have a translator app. Also, Raja Ampat as a whole relies on cash.

Efenli Arnes Homestay is a wonderful place to stay in Raja Ampat. The location is great for snorkelling - there is a wonderful house-reef just in front of you. Arnes can also organize snorkel-trips to Batu Lima and Friwen island which we enjoyed a lot. We also did a trip to Piaynemo with him. What makes this place really special is the lovely family! Although they speak little English, we communicated with them using Google translate and it was a real pleasure to get to know them a bit during our stay. Linda is just an awesome cook and provided us with the most delicious food we had on Raja Ampat. The food was mostly fresh fish with rice and vegetables (there was also fresh fruit as well) but Linda gave the dishes a different twist everyday - she used many different spices and made delicious sauces. So, the food was very varied which we enjoyed a lot. Also the bungalow (on the ocean) and the bathroom and toilet (in the forest) were great though simple. Everything was clean and very well taken care of. There are so many details at the homestay and it is very well maintained which we just loved.Unfortunately we only stayed 3 nights but will definitely be back on our next Raja Ampat stay and will stay longer then!

Wonderful homestay! We spent 2 nights there and it was probably our best welcome. Arnes had a very nice family, his daughter speaks a little English, communication was easy. The accommodation is clean and the food is the best on the island. The last evening we ate with the whole family it was incredible!

I spent 3 weeks in Raja Ampat at 4 different homestays and Efenli Arnes was definitely my favourite! I spent 5 days with Arnes, Leni and their daughter Antonieta. They are a very lovely and helpful family and will do everything to make your stay perfect! The food was by far the best I had in raja ampat, always changing dishes with rice, vegetable, fish, chicken and everyday fresh fruits! The house reef is good with plenty of fishes and if you snorkel towards the village you can see turtles and sharks. Once I've seen five turtles within half an hour!I stayed at the over water bungalow which is big and has a nice view with lovely decorations. They have also a nice on beach bungalow with a new sun lounger and table with chairs on a big deck next to it.I will definitely stay there again if I come back to Raja Ampat!

The facility consists of 2 houses on the water, each with a terrace and a beautiful view. The water is crystal clear, if you are lucky, a small shark may swim by. The equipment of the houses consists of mattresses on which you sleep, a thermos with hot water, coffee and tea on the terrace. What deserves special praise, however, are the exceptionally friendly and obliging hosts, who, however, do not speak any language other than their own. The price of accommodation usually includes full board, quite tasty. To sum up: a great place to relax close to nature!

We travelled for over a year and Arnes and Lina easily stand out as one of the best host experiences of the entire trip💙💙💙Recommended (and so helpfully arranged and coordinated) by Olga from Olin dive centre in Waisai, the Efenli family homestay was a dream come true. Such kind hosts with wonderful cooking (Lina went completely out of her way to prepare vegan food for me!), fully coordinated with our changing diving schedule; simple living at its best. The jetty is what dreams are made of - bluest blue water over a home (and healthiest!!) reef that offers fantastic snorkelling, but still the absolute highlight is the lovely family and their kind and caring hospitality. If you care where you stay (and we hope everyone does!), this homestay is a must visit. Simple bungalow with all you need - a basic bathroom, electricity in the evenings, utterly fantastic food, and Arnes with his longboat to arrange for trips anywhere.Pair with diving with Olin dive centre for the perfect Raja diving vacation 💙🐠🪸🤿

Wonderful stay with Arnes and Lina. We stayed in the over water bungalow (that is not on the pictures yet) and it was amazing. From the veranda you can see the fish jump and the dolphins swim by, and just in front there’s a great house reef with so many things to see. The food is amazing, the facilities are clean and Arnes and Lina are lovely hosts. I really recommend this homestay!!
