Great stay at Mama Tia family homestay. The very warm welcome from this extremely smiling family will do everything possible to ensure that you have an unforgettable stay! Unforgettable immersion in Toraja culture, don't hesitate to ask them to help you discover their culture and traditions. They speak English very well. The food is delicious with big portions. The rooms are clean and spacious. Many motorbikes can be rented on site. And all for very affordable prices. In short, a great stay!! Mama Tia Homestay is a very good place to stay in Rante Pao. Yakob and his son try very hard to organize tours. The tours are great. Both are very nice. There is delicious homemade food.Overall, you feel very comfortable and at ease here. There are many other backpackers there.

It was an amazing experience to visit Toraja while staying at Mama Tia Family Homestay. The family helped us arranging tours, rented us the scooter, helped us with the laundry and arranged all our transport. Yacob and his son Yansen really are so kind and knowledgable in providing tours of the highest quality for the adventurous traveller. On top of that, Yansens wife is an amazing cook. Next to delicious chicken, a lot of vegetarian and even vegan options are available.

We wanted to stay forever here!The rooms were clean and the bed very comfortable and there was a space where we could relax together with other hosts.What really stands out is the quality of our host and guide Yansen 😊He was fantastic, passionate with his work (you can already see it on the quality of his website!) and really humble.We were so happy to stay in a family with locals, sharing about their beautiful culture and traditions- we were like in a dream.I highly recommend this place and the tours with local guides! 👌Also, you can have dinner there, rent scooter and the location is really good also.

Even as someone from outside, I was treated incredibly hospitably by Yansen.He guided me and a few others from his homestay for two days and was able to convey the culture of Toraja to us in an incredibly authentic way. He knew the answer to every question and I never had the feeling that it was a nuisance to him. On the contrary. I had the feeling that he really enjoyed doing it.A basic attitude of Toraja that I was particularly able to experience with him, for which I am very grateful and would like to take with me: giving from the heart.Thank you very much Yansen, it was a great and eventful time with you!By the way, the food at the homestay is excellent. Can highly recommend Mie Goreng.

We had an amazing stay at Mama Tia Homestay. Yansen was a great guide throughout our 3-day stay and was able to explain to us in detail the intricacies of Tana Toraja's culture. We would have love to stay longer if our planning had allowed for it.
