Can’t speak highly enough of Firdas.Loved everything about it. The bungalows, the location, the food, the people. The house reef was phenomenal, whether you swim to the left or right. Guaranteed to see sharks, stingrays and turtles. Even a giant turtle nearby. In the late afternoon, baby stingrays can come up to even ankle deep water on one part of the beach. My favourite snorkelling was done between the two last jettys on this side of the island.Watching the reefsharks, fish and bioluminescence at sunset/night time from your bungalows is cool.Soul Scuba is amazing for dives (can take the hike trail to the other side of the island, or walk around the edge of the island at low tide to get to them). The closer dive spots were booked out when we came. The jetty outside Soul Scuba I’d amazing to snorkel too. We saw lionfish there a fair bit.The food was restaurant quality every single time. The fish and fruit was super fresh. Delicious sweets and desserts, too.The people were great. The owner can’t speak English but is the sweetest, kindest man. He stops by and checks on things. We had a lovely man named Finbye (sp?) translate for him upon arrival. The toilets and shower are a 20m walk from the bungalows but is no issue. At night they have sufficient lighting. The toilet and drip shower is basic but found that it was quite clean for outdoor facilities. The shower pressure is very light but all you need. They have one body wash available. The kids thay live in the village behind Firdas are so happy and lively. Always playing and giggling- very heart warming.Lots of dogs around, but only seem unfriendly to eachother (some of the males), and are fine with humans.Walk to watch the sunset on the other side of the island. It’s worth it!Some of the homestays on the other side sell beer, FYI.Firda’s was one of the highlights of my whole R.A experience :)
