Dong Talay Lipe Beach Resort

A very big plus is a nice swimming pool located right next to the beach. Everything else was very average and the room was rather dramatic. However, with a very comfortable mattress and air conditioning is a plus.The room was full of animals. Cockroaches, ants running in the bedding.

The hotel is a bit too expensive for what it offers.The employees are all super nice and will help you in all matters (in our case, for example when changing flights, which was only possible in Thai).Our room was well equipped and clean, but the garden area is apparently only half finished? At least it looks a bit untidy (which should only be annoying if you stay in the hotel the whole time).The pool was colored green 3 out of 4 days because apparently some plants got into it? But it was clean again on the last day.Location is top. Nice and quiet, but within a short walking distance of the walking street.Breakfast is okay, but nothing special

The stay at Dong Talay was nothing short of horrendous and not because it's fun to leave bad reviews or speak badly of other people's work. The point is that when you have booked 3 months in advance, you are on your honeymoon, and you find yourself in a room - Double Superior with garden view - in a room undergoing renovation with a view of the construction site, let's say that it is legitimate not to be satisfied. The room had electrical wires coming out of the walls, a crumbling false ceiling, a view of the construction site, ants in the room that entered from the air conditioning vent, not even a light near the bed nor a switch nor a bedside table. We pointed out the obvious problems with the room as soon as we arrived and they offered us to change accommodation for 2 nights out of 5, telling us that they would then put us back in the usual room since it was New Year's Eve and they had no availability. We therefore chose not to move for two nights, turning a blind eye to the room problems. The problem is that the next day the water came out yellow from the tap and we noticed it after taking a shower: certainly a very unpleasant thing for anyone. The point is not to not understand that you are on a small island, the point is that being on a construction site in the morning there were workers working on the water pipes and something had gone wrong. Last but not least the water in the communal pool was green. We reported the problem of yellow water in the room and the conclusion was that we had to check out on December 30th on a small island that no longer had rooms available. The friendly receptionist helped us find accommodation for 1 night and we checked out the next morning. The hotel manager was extremely rude, asking us to leave. In all of this we had consumed a beer for which they demanded payment: offering it was not a duty but it certainly would have been a gesture of courtesy given the inconvenience caused. In conclusion: inconveniences can happen, but when you rent a room under renovation in the middle of a construction site because you overbooked and you pretend to be right, it is no longer a simple inconvenience but rather taking advantage of people. However, I think the photos speak for themselves. To be avoided.

Great location. It is on Pattaya Beach and easy walk to Walking street but far enough that is is not noisy except the band from Akira resort next door. But after 10 o'clock, all is fine. Personally i prefer Pattaya Beach's smooth sand than Sunrise Beach which has a lot of small pebbles. Seafood at night is fresh and price is reasonable. Even cheaper than walking street. We had grouper about 700 grams for 500 bahts. Can't beat that. Breakfast is so so. Typical hotel breakfast. Hotel staff is very friendly and responds to our request very quickly. Not a fancy hotel but meet our needs. Cold aircon, cold frig, and clean.

Wonderful service by the staff, they are so nice and accommodating!|The resort is beach front so waking up everyday and having breakfast looking at turquoise waters and white sand is just amazing. The rooms are very spacious, at least with the one I got. |Highly recommended

The best thing about the hotel is its service, the receptionist was very attentive to making us comfortable and providing us with help when necessary.The hotel is located very close to the port and the main street, 5 minutes walk along the beach.In front of a beautiful beach and from which you can walk to other beaches since the island is small.The room is spacious, comfortable and has everything you need.The pool is a plus.The breakfast buffet is quite basic but is included in the price.
