FLEE, HOTEL IN DEPLORABLE CONDITION.We asked for a refund because the room was completely unsanitary (dust, crumbs, mold, food, plastic packaging in the room, etc.) horrible smell. They say it's cheap but you have plenty of hotels around at the same price or even cheaper.

The price is good and the location is good, but the overall atmosphere is dark, poor, and old.

One of the worst places I’ve ever stayed at in all of my travels of the world. When I went to check in, there were 2 guys in the lobby, one of their phone and the other one was sprawled across the couch with his feet kicked up watching TV. I came in at stood at the desk, and there was no one there. I said to one of the guys “Hello?” And he said “May I help you?” I said “Check in, please.” He said “One minute.” He was watching something on the television and he had to finish watching it until he came to the desk. Finally he came over, made a copy of my passport, and gave me my key. As he was checking me in I turned around and noticed a huge moldy room behind me.I went upstairs to my room, opened the door and was immediately hit with a smell of mold. I figured “It’s a humid environment, I’ll turn on the fan and let it air out.” So I turned on the air and checked around. I took my shoes off and I could feel dirt under my feet. It’s as if housekeeping hasn’t tended to this room for months because it wasn’t swept. I checked the bathroom, and there were little hairs and stuff in the toilet. Gross. And there was something on the toilet seat. So I continued looking around. The sheets has stains on them, and it was dusty everywhere. There was a random corner of the room not being used, and it was moldy but the moldy patches had been painted over. The toilet was leaking and the bathroom floor was soaked. There were cockroaches in two corners. I almost went downstairs to ask for a different room, but then I asked “Will those guys help you, or is it going to be another inconvenience for them? Also, remember where you are. You paid $25 a night for it, it’s not going to be excellent.” I went to take a shower and realized I didn’t have a towel. NO TOWEL! And no shampoo, no soap, no tissue, no bottles of water or anything. Wow. So I ran across the street to the little mini mart to get shampoo and soap. Went out to adventure a little bit.I came back into the hotel and one of the guys (still in the same place when I arrived six hours earlier) approached me and said “May I help you?” I said “Hello. I’m just coming back.” He stood up and asked again “May I help you?” And he stood in my way. I took out my room key to show him, and he took my key. He walked over to a little piece of paper, and scrolled down to make sure my name was on the list. Now, why would I have a room key with the number on it if I didn’t stay there? And, it was the same guy who checked me in. So after this nonsense he said ok. I asked him for a towel, and he said “You don’t have a towel?” I said no, then he asked me for my room number. I wanted to say “Dude, you just have my room key and you just looked at your list.” So, we went upstairs, he went into another room that was unoccupied and grabbed me a towel. Finally went upstairs to take a shower, and went to lay down on the bed. I pulled the sheets back, and there were a bunch of little long black hairs all over the bed. Not one. A few. At this point I was disgusted, but I had already paid. So I just spent the night. (I prepaid for 2 nights. $25 a night.) I tried to use the WiFi but it kept cutting out, so I went across the street to get a Sim card and just used my phone for internet. The next day, I could hear housekeeping out in the hallway, doing whatever they do...because it sure isn’t clean. They skipped right over my room and didn’t even come in to make the bed. Luckily I didn’t really need them to make the bed, but it’s just the point that they skipped over me. And I had bought my own toilet paper so it was fine. I finally booked another hotel for the remaining 3 nights in Vientiane.I don’t know how this place is still in business. Absolutely horrible and disgusting, and the staff is lazy and incompetent. The new hotel was cheaper, $20, and MUCH better.Don’t stay here unless you want to get sick from breathing in mold.

I collude with William E on this place. There is something mysterious of yesteryear about it and whilst it obviously has faults, well explained by others, for me, it is important to overlook those niggles and enjoy the essence of the place …

Great for the price. Not a luxury place but worth what you pay. Rooms ending in 04 seem to be the largest. Overpriced coffee in the lobby can be avoided, as can the restaurant. Stay here for the excellent location, clean rooms with comfortable beds, and lowish price.
