It was easy to access, the room was clean, and considering it was close to the station, it was well soundproofed so I couldn't hear outside noises. However, the linen room next to my room was in the staff room, and I was fed up with the noise of something like a cart hitting the room from early morning.

The Sanco-inn is a likeable hotel for a solo traveller. It is very near the station once you figure out you should head right as soon as you come out of the Shinkansen north gate, through the doors, around the road guy side of the taxis, etc, cross the road diagonally and head up past the smoker's designated area...about 20 metres from the corner kerbing. It is opposite a Bic camera store and Minimart entrances. The staff are helpful. The rooms are typically small and I'm not a fan of that 10inch step up into the bathroom.I liked the pillow bar and found another comfy pillow to complement my provided one.The rooms aren't cleaned daily and I'm fine with that. There is a full service on every 4th day (I think. I was there for 5 nights). If you leave your towel set out by 10am, new ones are provided. Do the same with the rubbish bin.I opted for breakfast in the booking. Not the best choice. Fine for Asian breaky but little choice for an Aussie guy used to cereal before bacon and eggs 😁. For me it might have been a better choice to buy a bowl, cereal, milk and fruit from the Aeon supermarket up the road. Still, I'm sure the breaky suits most people. Thanks to the staff there. I felt very comfortable.

The transportation location is great. There are 24-hour supermarkets and many supermarkets and Matsumoto Kiyoshi nearby (there is also bic camrea next to it), which is very convenient! When I checked in in early September, the overall check-in process was smooth. In addition, because I had sent a few packages to the hotel (the packaging was quite large...) Mr. Hashimoto at the counter was kind enough to lend me a cart for me to push back. If there is a package in the room/there is a package, I will thoughtfully print a piece of A4 paper and put it in a folder to notify at the door of the room. It is very considerate (thank you)The room is a standard single-person business hotel configuration. It has independent air conditioning and is very clean. Spare parts and pillows are provided. You can also borrow extension cords or hair stylers. This time, I borrowed hair stylers. (It’s great for both straight and rolled uses), saving you the trouble of having to carry things with you when you go abroad ~ Recommended

Overall: 2 starsLocation: 5 starsService: 1 starRoom: 4.5 starsThe location is very convenient, perfect for shopping and dining. The service, unfortunately, was disappointing, mainly due to the male front-desk staff. When my wife, friend, and I checked in on April 10th around 8:00 PM, I was with my 4.5-year-old son and witnessed the male front-desk clerk's behavior. He was curt and demanded, "Passport for everyone," without any politeness or customer service demeanor. A simple "please" could have made a big difference in the interaction, such as "Please provide passports for everyone." It left me questioning the standard of service at this 3-star hotel.I hope our experience was an isolated incident. Interestingly, when serving a customer from a European country, the front-desk clerk's attitude changed. He became polite, using courteous English and adjusting his tone. This inconsistency raises the question: Shouldn't a person in the service industry maintain a consistent standard of service for all customers, regardless of their background? Or was it just an unfortunate experience for my family and me?In contrast, the female front-desk staff, despite using a translation device for English, provided the expected level of service I've come to appreciate from 3-star hotels in Japan. The room was comfortable with a bathtub and a spacious washbasin, although the presence of too many pairs of slippers blocked the luggage path.In conclusion, if location and room comfort are your main priorities, this hotel could be a suitable choice. However, if you expect consistent 3-star service standards, you might experience the same unfortunate service as we did.

Simple, no frills hotel in a great location. The location is great. Just beside the Nagoya train, subway, bus interchange. You can go down the stairs to the underground shipping center, ESCA, and then to the interchange. Just note this is at the Shinkansen end, most of the subway platforms are on the other end. But still a great location. The room is small as expected of Japan cities. Generally clean, again as expected. The bed is a bit soft, and even with the selection of pillows, we were not able to get comfortable.Biggest problem is that there is a very faint cigarette smell in the room. We couldn't determine if it was the bedding, pillows, room or air-conditioning. Very faint, comes and goes.

The location is very close to Nagoya Station. After arriving at Nagoya Station, you can go down to the 1st floor and take the underground street and exit from E3. There are only stairs and no elevator at the exit. The room is very clean, but small, but has a complete range of equipment. You can store your luggage on the 1st floor if it is full. It can also be placed on the counter.

I used it for 2 nights. I think it's a cheap hotel given the favorable conditions of having Yoshinoya next to the first floor and being close to the station. The rooms were very clean and this is the first time I've seen a hotel where you can choose your own pillow.
