The bath here is truly an experience. It is huge, and the quality of the water is also fantastic. Dinner was also very interesting and delicious. I'm a 22 year resident of Kyushu, and I can say this hotel is high up on my list of the best stays to date. If you have time to visit the nearby national park, that won't disappoint either. A unique experience you'll not soon forget.

I played a round at Kirishima Golf Club and stayed there for the first time in 35 years on September 27, 2024.Among the many hotels in Kirishima, there is currently no Hayashida Onsen Hotel, but the Sulfur Valley Onsen Kirishima Hotel has the largest public bath with natural hot spring water, and has a bath, fountain, lying bath, red pine bath, cypress bath, and longevity bath. -This hotel has a wonderful bathhouse with an open-air bath (men's) ``Tetsukan-no-yu'' (female) ``Akiko-no-yu'', as well as a sauna and indoor bath. The bathing time for women is from 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm, with men and women taking turns. The view of the 100-year-old cedars that can be seen from the dining venue is still as impressive as ever, and 35 years have passed since then, making me think that it's been over 135 years since then.Everywhere has been renovated, and the number of other exhibits has increased considerably, including the bathtub, new building, and Ryoma Sakamoto exhibits. The dinner menu is rich, starting with plum wine as an aperitif, and the appetizers are carefully prepared. The sashimi platter includes ``swordfish, yellowtail, shrimp, red meat of tuna and medium fatty tuna'', and the hot pot includes black pork and gamecock mince, served on a ceramic plate. The grilled Kuroge Wagyu beef was delicious, and I was very satisfied with the ingredients, quantity, and taste! The maid looked like she was from a foreign country, but she was very polite and pleasant when greeting me and guiding me around.I think she might be the person in charge of the hall. I also appreciated the explanation of the dishes. The room was a twin, the toilet and bathroom were very spacious, and the bedroom was a modern and beautiful room with a combination of wooden floors and tatami mats, but there was a small cockroach 🪳 crushed on the floor between the beds. It was also crawling on the wall under the window, and I got rid of it, which was the reason for the ☆ points being deducted from the guest room.Perhaps after cleaning the floor with a vacuum cleaner, he may have unknowingly stepped on it and left the room before the cleanup was complete.I thought it might be necessary to check again when leaving after cleaning. I was scheduled to check in at 8:00 pm, but my previous commitments dragged on and I ended up arriving around 9:30 pm. I had called in advance to let them know that I would be late, but when I arrived there were two staff members at the front desk who took care of me politely. I was left with a very good impression of how they guided me around the building and to my room without making a single unpleasant face. The hotel is divided into three buildings, and since I have no sense of direction, I thought I might get lost, but the staff gave me detailed explanations, so I was able to get to the public bath and breakfast venue without getting lost! The public bath was divided into separate zones for men and women, and a mixed bathing area. Depending on the time of day, the mixed bathing area is only available to women.I entered the public bath after 10 o'clock, so it was almost reserved. The mixed bathing area was completely private, so I was able to relax by soaking in the hot water from one end to the other. When entering the mixed bathing area, it is OK to use bath towels, so I think women can feel safe too!Among the public baths, I think the best one is the open-air bath. It was a day close to the Harvest Moon, so an almost perfectly round moon could be seen through the gaps between the tree branches. The slightly chilly air, like the beginning of autumn, was the best. There were many other types of hot springs, but each one has its name and description written down, so I think you'll enjoy it even more if you read it while you enter. The room I stayed in this time was in the west wing. Is it a little old build? However, the room was clean and the air was good. The yukata is also available in four sizes, so I think it's suitable for people of all body types. However, I was surprised to see a 2cm spider in the guest room. Please be careful if you hate insects lolBreakfast was in buffet style. There was a wide variety of Japanese and Western dishes. Speaking of Kagoshima Prefecture! There was also a lot of food. For me, the minced meat cutlet and chicken rice were delicious! It was a wonderful hotel that I would definitely stay at if I had a chance to go to Kagoshima Prefecture again!

I came here on a solo trip. It's located in the mountains, so it can't be said to be easy to access, but the public bath is larger than ever before, making it a must-see for hot spring lovers. For my meal, I chose Kurobuta Shamo Nabe, and the soup stock was very delicious. The public bath in question is a mixed bathing area and I am a man, so I didn't feel any inconvenience, but women may feel a little inconvenienced. There is a time called Ladies Time when only women can take a bath (men can only bathe indoors), but if you are concerned about that, you may be restricted from bathing time in the public bath. Of course, if you are taking a bath other than the large public bath, you can enter as much as you like at any time. The hot water was very good ♨️
