My family and I stayed at Ruriyama for one night. Of particular note is the dinner, which is a full-course kaiseki meal from aperitifs and appetizers to dessert, all of which are elaborate and delicate in flavor, and I think it's safe to say that the cuisine closely follows Japanese tradition. . It took us over two hours to eat, but we still couldn't finish it.In addition, for breakfast, we enjoyed a variety of flavors in a variety of small bowls, including white rice cooked just the right way.The communal bath has two bathtubs with different temperatures, and the hotter one was perfect for me. I enjoyed the beautiful sight of yunohana dancing in the clear water with the scent of sulfur. I was also looking forward to the sauna, but before I knew it, I was more interested in the bath. However, it seems that the temperature is not carefully controlled for ``men'', ``women'', and ``separate outdoor baths''.Unfortunately, there was an outdoor bath attached to the room, and the hot spring was running for a while to get the temperature to my liking, but it was turned off during breakfast, which was a bit disappointing. I also thought that the futon would be raised at breakfast, but it seems that this will not be done unless you ask. Some of the waitresses were foreigners and were unfamiliar with the service. It's like putting the rice and soup upside down (I was careful about this), so it's better not to have high expectations. However, since we do not serve meals in our rooms and we do not have a full-time Nakai, we did not have any issues with this, but some people may be concerned about it. Our main person in charge was a friendly and nice person.Overall, it's a very good inn to enjoy meals, baths, and secluded rooms. It seems that my wife visited there about 40 years ago, and I hope that they will continue to maintain this tradition for many years to come.

As it's called a culinary inn, all the dishes are elaborate and there are a lot of items, so it's difficult to explain each one, but they were all delicious. However, the food wasn't that impressive. That's my honest opinion, and if you ask me if I would like to come back to Kirishima Onsen and stay there again, I would probably try another ryokan. That's what it feels like. They can also accommodate individual meal allergies and other issues, and I was able to make onigiri (onigiri) with the leftover taimeshi at the end.Mr. Nakai was from a foreign country, but although he was hesitant, his hard work made you want to support him.The bath is a slightly hot sulfur spring, and the sulfur smell lingers on your body. Be careful not to wear silver accessories immediately after getting out of the bath, as they may turn black. The open-air bath on the men's side has hot and slippery water flowing from it.I think all the rooms have open-air baths, but you can relax and have a free-flowing bath. There are several types of drinks in the refrigerator, but apparently they are free.Women receive gifts such as a yukata of their choice and a drawstring bag, with something inside the drawstring bag. There is a common room that guests can use, and you can also enjoy freshly brewed coffee there.

It is located in a good location for sightseeing near the entrance to Kirishima Shrine, and the atmosphere of an old folk house surrounded by greenery is irresistible. We thoroughly healed our fatigue in the open-air bath in the garden and enjoyed dishes made with local ingredients. In the garden, you can feel nature surrounded by moss and trees, but one thing that bothered me was that paper wasps were building a nest in the eaves of the garden. They didn't attack me, but it was scary. (I don't know now because I used it before)

A ryokan near Kirishima Shrine. This is the inn that made me fall in love with inns with open-air baths in the rooms. As the name of the inn says "restaurant", the food is delicious!Because there are only a few guest rooms and many rooms have open-air baths, we were able to reserve the large public bath for private use and take a relaxing bath.
