I absolutely love this hotel! If you're a solo traveler, this one is the hotel to get in Tokyo. Its location in Hatsudai is the sweet spot if you like something a little more leafy and quiet - it's very accessible being right next to Shinjuku, and it's a very charming neighbourhood. Surprisingly more luggage friendly than expected! The hotel itself is modern and comfy. For the single room layout, it was exactly what I needed - it's compact, but enough space to relax and make yourself comfortable. The bed was spacious and comfortable, the desk was great, and the room had a microwave and even a stove!Whilst it is a very service-limited hotel, I didn't have any issues checking in/out, and everyone I interacted with, from housekeeping to the cafe staff, was very nice and hospitable.I will wholeheartedly consider making this my go-to in Tokyo!

We recently stayed for one night at Art Hotels Tokyo Shibuya and enjoyed the modern yet simple Japanese ambiance. The location is also very convenient, and the café on the ground floor serves high-quality products. We appreciated the convenience of the washing machine with detergent provided. The shower and bathtub being in the same space was a nice touch, and the room had good soundproofing, though it didn't block out street noise or hallway noises entirely. The bath and facial products were pleasant and smelled wonderful! The room was very clean. However, there are a few things to keep in mind. There is no lobby or staff presence after 7 PM, as the café on the ground floor also serves as the reception. After 7 PM, check-in is self-service, which isn’t difficult but can be a bit stressful if you're not sure what to expect. The rooms are extremely minimalist, especially the twin rooms compared to the single ones. The walls are bare, which made the space feel a bit cold. Additionally, there’s no TV. There is no dining table or chairs, even though the room includes a kitchen. There is no bedside tables or lamp. The only lighting is the general one of the room (6 or 8 spots) so no cozy dim lighting before sleeping. The room door wasn’t well insulated, as we could hear other guests arriving. The exit sign above the door was so luminous after turning off the lights. It’s worth noting that if you stay for two nights, there’s no cleaning service or amenities replenishment after the first night. From what we understood, this only happens if you stay three nights or more, so make sure to check this detail if it’s important to you. We only stayed one night so I can’t tell exactly. Finally, there’s no elevator to the third floor, but the staff was helpful with our luggage.Overall, this feels more like a 3-star hotel, but with some improvements, it could genuinely reach 4-star status. We would consider staying here again because we had a good night's sleep, especially if some of the negative points could be addressed in the future.
