First, the elements that many people generally dislike. The cheapest plan is the one where you stay like a share house.・It smells like grandma and grandpa's house (level 4 out of 10)・There are geckos (there are many insects in the summer) (apparently there are more if you rent a cottage 🦎)・The toilet is slightly tilted.・Not a washlet (water dumplings can be used)・Do not use the bathtub・It's like a shared house, so if there are other guests, the lights will turn on in the living room and you will hear noises.・Apparently there is only one company on Hachijojima that won't let you rent if you stay here (because the gravel and grass will damage your car)Good point 🎵・It's cheap anyway・Can use Wi-Fi properly・Cheap if you want to have a barbecue! For 500 yen per person, they provide plates, chopsticks, and cups, and they also prepare a fire. Also, it's delicious because it's slowly grilled on a lava plate. Yakisoba is also available.・Private rental during off-season.・Even if there are other customers, there is a possibility that you will become friends with them.・I can drink with my husband (Mr. Tanaka). There was a sense of distance between us that whenever we had free time, we could just disappear. (It's possible that it's because it's nighttime. When we were handling fish during the day, we talked for quite a while.) (They probably wouldn't get into it unless we stepped in.)I went around April, and it might be best to go when it's neither too hot nor too cold!If anything, it's a bit difficult to heat because there's an kerosene stove. Maybe? Some reviews say that the air conditioner doesn't work very well.I went during the off-season and was very satisfied! ! !

We used a guest house. The manager was very kind and introduced me to various delicious restaurants on Hachijojima. Since it is at a high altitude, the scenery can be seen clearly when the weather is clear.I was worried because there were a lot of low reviews in the reviews I saw beforehand, but I didn't feel that way at all, and at this price, it's enough to survive the rain and cold. I saw a gecko, but there are a lot of big insects on Hachijojima even at other accommodations... If you are unsure, bring insecticide or an electric mosquito repellent with you.The road is narrow, but if you are used to driving on mountain roads, you can easily get there in a regular car. (I think it would be tiring to climb on foot)Recommended for those who have traveled to the island and would like a reasonable accommodation.

This was my first time using it.A small cottage deep in the mountains. It was a very simple structure with a room of about 8 tatami mats, a small kitchen room, and a unit bath.Basically, I think it's suitable for people who want to fish and cook the fish themselves. There is a sink in the main building where you can prepare the fish.It is prohibited to handle fish inside the cottage. The prepared fish will be cooked at the cottage. The sashimi is good, but there is no gas stove in the indoor kitchen, and there is only one electromagnetic cooker.Cooking takes time. There is a microwave and refrigerator. The hired manager is very personable and will tell you a lot of things if you ask.He is a smiling and pleasant person.Perhaps the owner is stingy, but he doesn't do any restoration work and is operating out of a dilapidated cottage. The floor in the entrance was slippery, and the handle of the bathtub came loose.Although I'm not satisfied with the building, I think I'll stay here again when I go to Hachijojima because of the ease of use and the good nature of the hired manager. It is better to go out and see the balcony of the main building's rest room. When you exit, you can see Yaene Port in front of you, and when you turn around, you can see Mt. Hachijo Fuji, and the scenery is beautiful. There were about 5 small geckos in the room. (lol)

It's terrible. If we can't accommodate 4 people, we should make reservations for 4 people. When we arrived, the four of us were told that it was too small and the room was tight, and we didn't get our money back because we paid by card. There is no air conditioning and the bathroom and toilet are shared. Not suitable for families with children

The guesthouse is located in a quiet place easily accessible by car. We saw several motorbikes parked there, too. This accommodation offers a stunning sea view. We had our breakfast at the terrace, and it was nice to have our morning coffee and enjoy the beautiful view. We got the food in the local supermarket. I highly recommend trying passion fruit, it was very sweet and delicious. We stayed in a futon room, simple and neat. The house itself had all basic amenities like a fridge, microwave, kettle, utensils, hairdryer, wifi. The room and the facilities were tidied up every day. It’s a good deal, a very affordable place with everything you need. There was a shower gel and a shampoo in the bathroom, but a toothbrush and toothpaste you’ll need to bring. The place is located on the hill in the middle of the jungle, so be prepared for some insects, but it wasn’t critical, if you ever stayed in a village house, you will be OK :)The host is a chill man, we had a chat with him a couple of times, and he promptly responded to our requests.Overall, we had a relaxing time in Hachijojima, it was a cool experience staying in a local house in the heart of the island, we enjoyed the island atmosphere very much.We also did stargazing at night, as it gets pretty dark in that area.Thank you for having us. We want to visit Hachijo in winter for the whales season.

I want to change the definition of accommodation facilities.I don't think there is a problem with people who can just casually stay at a stranger's house.(There is no key to the room you stay in.)For the first time, I decided not to stay multiple nights and decided to stay at another hotel.

I have stayed at various hotels on Hachijojima, but this is the worst. The location is bad, and since it's surrounded by nature, I expected there to be a lot of bugs and geckos, but the management was not very responsive, it didn't feel clean, there was no soap, shampoo, toothbrush, and no wifi in the room. The list goes on and on, such as the room door being broken and opening automatically if you don't lock it.

We have set the place low for you all. Everyone talks about cars, but you could also go by electric bicycle! If you have the guts, it's totally possible. Some people came by bike. The host was also a nice guy and I had fun talking with him! The food was delicious and plentiful, and I was able to eat local food. I came here based on the reviews posted elsewhere, but as long as you don't mind insects, there's nothing to worry about! There were a lot of young people there too!

I think the reviews are bad because I go there thinking I'm a customer. It's cool, you can take a bath, there's Wi-Fi, and it's heaven compared to the ferry! Imagine that you are staying at your uncle's house. It's an adventure. have fun.
