We had a reservation for August 2024 and after 6 months of making the reservation they sent a message asking to cancel because an error had occurred. Same room for higher price was released same day.

A converted multi-storey residential block that's more like a homestay apartment than a hotel, seems operated by a solo proprietor. Stayed on the 3rd floor, I counted 4 units per floor. Room decently sized and clean, a bit homely in setup. Bathroom was extremely small though. Shared washer and dryer in the garage on the ground floor, along with a pantry. Host was friendly at check-in, didn't encounter issues.Reasonably comfortable stay overall, although my A/C refused to operate in cool mode on the first night - it was fine the rest of the stay. Fortunately the mid-May weather was cool enough, and opening the window helped. There was a weird perpetual humming noise outside every night, I'm guessing from nearby A/C compressors or electrical units. Not unbearable, but noticeable. If all you need is a comfortable place to sleep, are partial to the Ueno area, and prefer a homestay style setup with barebones service in a residential area, this place works. Other than that, I wouldn't say it particularly stands out, especially for the price I paid at JPY15,000 per night.

We had 5 emails telling us to cancel our booking and not arrive as our booking was cancelled . Anyway I didn’t actually see these until I was on the door step of the property. We buzzed and 20 mins later a lady arrived. She had our booking and we got to our room. The TINIEST room we’ve ever seen. Not like the photos. It was like living in a homeless bunk. With a mattress on the floor. It’s a good 10 min walk from metro, very quiet. We had booked 2 single beds and had to share a small bed with my sister. No took for luggage we kept tripping over everything. Nightmare for 3 nights. But it was only £38 a night.

This place is greedy and does not honour their reservations!!! They told us to cancel our rooms because of “a system error” but then a week later released our same rooms for more than double the price for the same dates. Never experienced this before in Japan. Very disappointing. I would never give them my business, knowing that they are scrupulous and dishonest.

We had a reservation for November 2024 and after 4 months of making the reservation they sent a message asking to cancel because an error had occurred that they didn't know what it was and that it would not be possible to continue with the reservation. I do not recommend it due to the inconvenience it caused

We highly appreciated our stay at designers hotel siesta during 3 nights. The location is nice, in a calm neighbourhood and not far from Asakusa, akihabara, ameyoko shopping district. The room was clean, good design. Size is fair for Japan and more spacious that what is offered in main hotel chains. The host was highly responsive to our resquests.

Nice location in a quiet quarter of Tokyo not too far from the metro and for a simple delivery to the nicest locations in Tokyo. Nevertheless a bit expensive even if it's Tokyo. Hotels and B&Bs stop copying your neighborhood in feeding the hôtels' rooms price inflation.
