Excellent resort accommodations. Beautiful, clean, safe, outstanding service staff and 5 star food service. The in-room onsen with ocean views are unmatchable. Owner / Executive Chef the best; attention to details are superb. The rooms are immaculate; with typical authentic Japanese decor. Would definitely recommend this resort

Very large, affordable rooms with private outdoor onsen (more like a soaking tub due to small size). Our room had two AC units which led to the best climate control we had on our trip. The dinner and breakfast were both fantastic- the chef is clearly passionate and the focus on ensuring a pleasant stay is held by every member of the staff. We were especially charmed by our server Vivian, who was lovely and warm. Parking is tight, and our King bed was two twin beds pushed together. However, we would stay here again in a heartbeat because of the excellent service, food, and spacious rooms.

A beautiful place to stay. The rooms are large with comfortable beds, everything you need is provided to you for your stay. Our room had an onsen tub and view of the sea, which we used for a long time. There is a larger onsen on the property you can reserve times for. There is a shuttle to the local train station, although it's not very nearby, and late at night we had to walk back to the resort (it was possible and the scenery on the walk was also nice), but if you don't have a car it's worth considering. There are a few parking spots at the resort for your car. There is no convenience store or anything nearby, which was already stated on the website, but they provide free drinks like cold tea and beer in the room for you. The staff was so kind and caring, and breakfast service was perfect. I recommend it.

This is a must. For the price you pay this ryokan is definitely the best. From the big rooms, cleaniness, high quality products from toothbrush to shampoo, you can't get anything better than isana. The best part is the food, dinner and breakfast. It's a french influenced fusion with asian cuisine and it's honestly amazing and the best meal we've had so far on our trip to Japan. The value that you get is totally worth the money.

The hotel is surrounded by beautiful nature. Very hospitable and friendly staff. Clean and very comfortable hotel room. I want to live in this room! You can open the window and sleep to the sound of ocean waves, pleasant night light, the aroma of lavender... all this will cure you of any stress and fatigue! One of the Best Hotels in Japan! I would give it 5 stars easily!!

We had a fantastic time at Isana! If you're considering booking this spot, I highly recommend it. It's a beautiful spot with incredible service and they are accommodating of English speaking travelers. We stayed in an onsen room overlooking the water. We made good use of this, taking in the sunrise while having a nice soak. That by itself made this stay memorable but the food really put it over the top! If you stay here, make sure you get the full meal because it's an amazing experience. The menu is a cross of Japanese and French and it's executed really well. It was one of the top meals I had during my stay and we hit up some really great spots. Also we didn't get to spend enough time to do the hike there but the Jogasaki walking trail is really close to this resort so you can be on your way on a beautiful nature walk easily. Thanks Isana Resort for a memorable stay!

Isana Resort melds the aesthetics and flavors of traditional and modern Japan. Although you may come for the relaxing soak, you’ll be lured back — even if from afar in your mind — by meals meticulously prepared and presented in ryokan …

We just spent a couple days at Isana and loved it! The food was a perfect combination of fresh local fare with both traditional Japanese preparations and the a modern, creative flair influenced perhaps by the chef's stint at the famous State Bird in San Francisco. The entire staff treated us so well, and the location provided easy access to the hike along the Jogasaki Coast.

Incredible boutique hotel. We had the dinner and I wouldn't miss it, it was the best meal of my life. The entire hotel is beautiful and carefully crafted, it is all recently re done inside and a great blend of modern with antique accents. The in-room onsen is incredible!
