First time to Japan. Stayed for Christmas. Made full dinners for 5 most nights with kitchen amenities. This house was an excellent stay to help us feel we were living in an authentic home in a Japanese neighbourhood away from other tourists. The house was exactly as described. We were sufficiently wanted it would be cold- it was if the heaters were not used. We were provided with plenty of fuel for the heaters. The electric blankets were perfect to get through the night. The bathing room was super clean. Everything was.The shopping/ restaurant street around about 5-8 minute walk away.Although only rated as a 3 star hotel, I would say that compared to other places I have stayed, this is more of a 4 star.Thank you.

I used it when walking around Takayama. Good location and convenient, but...First of all, I didn't really know how to check in, and it was a lot of trouble, like having to take a photo of my ID and taking a video with my companion. There is a paper check-in form, and if that is sufficient, that is fine. There were no curtains in the hallway, so the white streetlights in the garden were so bright at night that the person I went with had trouble sleeping. (I was at the entrance, so it didn't bother me that much.)In the photo, it looked like a cypress bath, but what was it? It's my fault for not looking closely... Since it's not a hot spring, I was hoping for at least the atmosphere, but I was a little disappointed.Although it is an old private house, the interior was very clean and every corner was carefully cleaned, so I was able to spend my time with peace of mind. It was great and there was no dust!Although it was cold, the futon included an electric blanket, so I was able to sleep comfortably. If you let us know in advance, you can park your car even before check-in time, which was very helpful.I felt that the renovation and atmosphere of the old folk house was very tasteful. However, I do feel the cold air in the winter, so I think it would be nice to have at least a roll-up blind-style curtain in the hallway.

It was a very beautiful and stylish building, just like the photos on the website. The garden was also very nice and I was surprised. It's an old private house, so it gets cold, but we were provided with fan heaters, a kotatsu, and electric blankets, so we were able to stay comfortably. The kitchen is stocked with dishes and pots.I only used it to make tea and to put snacks on the tableware, but I think I can cook for myself to some extent. It's dark with indirect lighting throughout, but I guess it can't be helped since the atmosphere is important...However, I thought I would like a little more bright lighting in the kitchen. There are two parking spaces in parallel. The location is right next to Sakurayama Hachimangu Shrine, so you can visit the shrine on foot.It was a very good accommodation.

I stayed with my family for 2 nights and 3 days during the May holidays. The following 5 points were the deciding factors for choosing this inn.・This inn is a completely private space where you can stay without contact from check-in to check-out.- Parking space for one car is available on the premises・There are 2 bedrooms.・You can walk around Takayama within walking distance.・The interior design is in harmony with the atmosphere of Hida Takayama. The interior was beautiful, just like the photos on the website! It was a cold winter day with the temperature around 10 degrees Celsius, but we had a ``kota'' set up in the living room to keep us warm. Thanks to being able to use this service, my family and I were able to enjoy a very fulfilling trip to Hida Takayama and were very satisfied.Despite my thoughts below, I would definitely use this hotel again when traveling to Hida Takayama ♪♪♪What to think about next time・I brought instant coffee this time, but I thought I could have enjoyed my time at the inn even more if I had bought or brought my favorite tea.・I brought clothespins this time, but I wish I had brought a laundry net as well.Something I was curious about・As part of the check-in process, it seemed a bit of a hassle to take photos and enter ID documents on the iPad, but it was necessary and a one-time thing, so I didn't worry about it after that.-The main lighting is indirect lighting, so if you are not used to it, it may feel a little dark. (I felt it was a little dark for reading books and other text) I thought it would be nice to be able to choose to turn on the overall lighting.・Wipe the table. . . I thought there would be no problem with the kitchen paper provided, but I said I would like someone to accompany me.-Each room is not airtight, so you can hear people talking in the living room no matter which room you are in. It's a natural thing to do in an old private house, so there's no problem with just reconfirming it.・Since the living room is on the floor, you need a cushion when you sit to avoid hurting your butt.・The bath is not reheating! That's what I thought, but there was no problem at all lol・There is an album with information about this inn in the living room, and near the end there was a photo of a certain site with a message saying that you can see the starry sky. I was worried because I didn't know if that was the case.
