The room smelled dirty and the receptionist's attitude was very bad. They don't do anything, and the woman during the day has an overbearing attitude.

It will be used in seminars and courses, so it will be used with large groups. The restaurant is in a dire state and individual customers are restless.

The food was very delicious. I was very satisfied. The room was very clean and the view was great. However, when I was making my bed, the cleaning staff almost stole my smartphone. It's also my fault for leaving it there and going out for a while... I'm glad I was able to get back to the room just in time for it to end... I can't believe you brought it up without permission.

I only visited due to work commitments, so I didn't use the guest room or receive any services, so it's not a bad thing. It's a good thing that there was a designated smoking area. The scenery isn't bad, but I don't think I'll go there unless it's for work.

[Cancellation policy will not change even in the event of a disaster-sized typhoon]I had made a reservation as a place to stay for someone who was bringing a boat to Hayama's marina from far away (Wakayama), but due to a typhoon approaching the main island, I couldn't load the boat onto a truck and drive at high speed, so I couldn't find a place to stay. I requested a cancellation two days in advance, but they did not accept it. This is the first typhoon to hit the Kanto region this year (2024), and the town mayor was told that he would be charged 70% of the cancellation fee, even though the typhoon was approaching and had officially issued a disaster and power outage alert. There are no other accommodations in Hayama where you can park a truck loaded with a boat, and when we explained the special circumstances before making the reservation, they flexibly accommodated us and said we could park on the hotel grounds, even though it wasn't in the parking lot. I am very sorry about this cancellation policy. The town announced the possibility of a disaster, and even changed its cancellation policy due to the approach of a huge typhoon with a force of 945hpa at the time of its approach, which is difficult to predict and has a strong wind and rain effect over a wide area across Japan. Unfortunately, I was able to get a glimpse of the facility's money-oriented business stance.[Business department/sales manager (section manager) who is not knowledgeable about cancellation policy]I understand that there will be a cancellation fee even if a typhoon approaching a natural disaster level approaches, but I wanted to consider canceling until the last minute, so when I checked the deadline for the current cancellation policy to apply, I was told that it would only be until 11 p.m. Ta. When I asked if the date would change until 11:59 p.m., I was told that the reception desk would close at 11:00 p.m., so any cancellation requests made after that would be judged on a case-by-case basis. In the end, I was told that if I contacted them before the date changed, someone would respond after 11pm, but although they loudly advocated their cancellation policy, the rules they set were very lenient and vague. So, I suspect that the hotel management is inconvenient for the guests overall.[How should hotels respond to typhoons of a scale that threatens human life?]It may be rare to have to carefully monitor the weather and sea conditions the day before your stay in order to transport a boat from a long distance by truck, but this will continue to happen in the marina mecca of Hayama. I think there is. In fact, for those people, if a typhoon of a natural disaster level approaches that the town has officially issued an alert for, I would like the hotel to be flexible and not just insist on the cancellation policy. This is a typhoon of such a scale that it could endanger human lives if left unchecked, and Hayama residents like myself, who have suffered damage from typhoons many times in the past, were extremely dissatisfied with the recent response. Since I did not stay there, I cannot evaluate the facility, so I would like to use this as a reference for my bad experience regarding the cancellation policy.
