The Award 🏆🏆🏆 for Worst Hostel in the World Goes To…This hostel was, without a doubt, the worst I've ever stayed in, and that's saying something considering I've traveled through 17 European countries and spent six months backpacking across Japan. Here's why it takes the (unwanted) crown 👑Claustrophobic Chaos: The dorm room was incredibly cramped, crammed in six beds when it could barely handle four. They were poorly built, with every movement from the top or bottom bunk sending tremors through the entire structure. Forget a good night's sleep!Unbearable 👃Stench: The ventilation in the room was non-existent. If someone had a single dirty sock, the entire room reeked. Combine that with the lack of luggage storage (thanks to those extra beds) and you have a recipe for misery.Highway 🛣️ Hustle: The traffic noise was horrendous. Imagine sleeping in the middle of a busy highway. Nonstop cars 🚗 , buses 🚌 , and trains 🚊 made sleep a distant dream. There's no exaggeration here, this went on all night.Staff Woes: While a few staff members were alright, the overall impression was less than stellar. It felt like they knew the place was bad and it reflected in their demeanor.Dilapidated Decor: The place had a run-down, hand-painted graffiti vibe that screamed "neglect" rather than "artistic."Surge Pricing Shenanigans: One might expect such a low-quality experience to come with a low price tag. However, they participate in surge pricing, tripling their rates on weekends when other options are limited. Pure greed, not traveler support.Avoid at All Costs! This hostel is a complete joke. It has no business being a hostel, let alone charging any traveler money. Do yourself a favor and skip this one at all costs. You've been warned!

Do not book the dorm room!! It feels like you are in a garage and the beds are bad. They are not posted on the website so it is a scam. I do not know about the 2 persons rooms but the 6 person dorm is bad

Absolutely amazing experience staying here! Its a small, beautiful, and unique guesthouse very close to some amazing attractions in Kamakura. The staff were very helpful and knowledgeable about the local area, and the facilities were clean. There is also a small cafe attached that has some very tasty food and drink. Great place to stay for anyone wanting to not break the bank yet still have a comfortable accommodation and convenient access to the amazing things Kamakura has to offer.

Although it is an ``interesting inn,'' it is certainly not a high-class inn. The beds also have a handmade feel to them, which may be difficult for people who are not used to cheap hotels.I went there in the winter and they left the entrance open and it was so cold that I couldn't even take a shower. To be honest, I can't recommend it to anyone other than those who want a special experience.

I stayed there last week and the staff was so friendly and caring. Some couldn’t speak English so well but still put so much effort into everything, which was really nice. It has beach house vibes which is really cool! Maybe it could be a bit cheaper but the nice staff makes up for it:)

When I purchased the room, it was a 3-person room, and the room price for 3 people was also marked. However, after purchasing, the number of people staying was 2. I sent an online message before canceling for free, but no reply was received. When I arrived at the accommodation, I was overcharged again. The clerk couldn't explain clearly. In the end, there were no toothbrushes and indoor slippers in the accommodation. Both of these need to be purchased at an additional price. They were not informed before check-in. They were only told that charges were required when asking. It felt very bad. Apart from the fact that it is close to Kamakura Station, the rest was... Very poor accommodation experience

The staff is kind, they speak english very well. The food at the cafe is also very delicious. But the common areas are cramped, and this is one of the dirtiest hostels I’ve been in. There are cockroaches. But for Japan it’s also very cheap. For a night or two it’s no issue, if you can afford the private room then it would be better. No breakfast is served, like some of the older reviews say.

Booked this placed thinking it would be much bigger, turns out they advertise the much more expensive private rooms. The hostel area looks like worn down shed, the beds are in used wooden boards, dead bugs in the floor. With the standards of other hostels in Japan, this one might be worse I’ve stayed in and I say that because I paid $110 dollars for 4 nights to sleep in a cramped hot shed. If it was cheaper maybe I wouldn’t be so critical but I paid way too much to stay here, it’s extremely small and doesn’t inspire cleanliness. One bathroom and one sink for 6 people. It’s rough and overpriced for what it is. The WiFi you have to constantly sign in every hour which is annoying and slows down when there are multiple people using it.I read on previous reviews they gave cereal, had a very rude girl working the counter tell me they didn’t serve cereal when I had gotten some cereal one of the days. She looked at me like a was crazy, not a nice vibe.If you’re looking for a good location I can see this as a good place, but I’d book another place for the same price (like a hotel) that offers better service and amenities.**updated review**Changing my review from 1 start to 2 as the manager was kind enough to apologize for the rude staff this morning and I stand corrected as there is no breakfast, but it doesn’t change the fact that I was rudely spoken to by the staff, the price and what you get for said price. I will say the manager has some class and I appreciate him saying something to make my stay at least some what better.
