Had a beautiful experience here, staff was very welcoming and accommodating to our needs. I have a nut allergy and didn't have to worry at all. Beautiful view even though it was raining and cloudy. They also give great massages if you like a painful massage to relax your tense muscles from a lot of walking. Would highly recommend and will be returning!Wonderful course meal but you have to be willing to try new things if you are traveling from abroad.

Stayed here for one night and had the most wonderful experience. We were greeted at the door and they held all of our bags while we explored the city. They even have a shuttle that will drop you off and pick you up around the town. The included dinner was phenomenal and consisted of 10 different courses. They also have wine, beer and sake that you can purchase. The breakfast the next morning was also delicious. The views from the room were amazing and the private bath on the back patio was perfect.

This place was a highlight in a trip of highlights. The staff were exceptional and we were made to feel welcome immediately. The hotel itself is modern yet understated. The meals were experiences in themselves. It would be worth trying Hanaougi if you are looking for a break from the intensity of Tokyo and want to indulge in a top class ryokan experience.

We were in Japan for 2 weeks and our stay in Hakone was chosen to be our 'blow out' of the trip, with Gora Hanaougi being our priciest stay - so we had high expectations! We loved it. …
