The other reviewers are not kidding - the host Kana may be nicest person I've ever met. She really takes her time to help wherever she can and knows everything there is to know about Hakone. The hostel is beautiful, built inside an old post office and the location is great to visit Hakone. Would give 6 stars if I could.

Kana (hostel's host) is so genuinely welcoming. She made her me understand the map, recommended places and suggested for a short hike which was amazing❤️She treats like a mother. Always smiling and beyond happy to help.❤️The shower and toilets are common but are kept very neat and clean just like the dorm beds. The beds are less so please book in advance. Also, they have a private room with mattress.

Kana (hostel host) is super friendly and very welcoming. Genuinely felt her care for her visitors as she was recommending me places to go and asked me how my day was. It's my first hostel and certainly a memorable one.Bed and facilities are very clean and comfortable. Photos are exactly as expected.

The cute retro building, the clean and comfortable room, and above all, the host, Kana, was an incredibly nice and kind person☺️✨Thank you! !I traveled with my mother, who is in her 70s, and we had a really comfortable time. The futon in the Japanese room was soft and fluffy, so I was able to sleep peacefully. You can definitely hear noise in your room, so if you are picky, we recommend bringing your own earplugs. (Free sponge earplugs included)Thank you for showing me around and teaching me about hot springs, dinner, and breakfast.I would like to order it again when I come to Hakone again.

KANA!!! She is in charge of the hostel. He is the most dedicated person to his clients that I have ever seen. If you want to talk, she'll talk to you, if you need help with anything or detail she offers herself. We went to Hakone because from there you can access the Subashiri trail and climb Mount Fuji. He was so excited that he was helping us with everything since I made the reservation... he sent me all kinds of information, made reservations for us, gave me advice... in short, a great help and person who made our experience more authentic and easier.Additionally, the hostel was clean, cozy, and close to convenience stores and bus stops.
