When we frist arrived, our host was waiting for us to take us to our room. She was very friendly, and even with her limited English, used translate functions on the phone to communicate when needed, which worked out fine. From the room, to the service, the food and location were all excellent.Enjoyed both private and public onsens. No one in the public one, so had it too myself which was even better.Breakfast was just as enjoyable as the dinner, and our host was kind enough to sort out a taxi to ensure we could get to Odawara station in a time for our train

Amazing experience and incredible service. Unfortunately we only stayed one night but we enjoyed the whole experience. We came here with kids and they offered a kids menu dinner while we could experience a typical Japanese dinner. The room had a private onsen so we let the girls try it with cooler water. The common onsen was beautiful with view on the outside.

We had a traditionally Ryokan stay at Gyokutei with both Japanese-style dinner and breakfast served in our room. The food was absolutely incredible - meticulously and beautifully prepared and served. The room is older, but charming! …

A luxurious moment at Hakone Yumoto Onsen TamaniwaOn a trip to Hakone, I stayed at Hakone Yumoto Onsen Tamaniwa with four friends. As soon as you step inside, you will find yourself in a calm space that will make you forget about the hustle and bustle. The guest rooms are separated from each other to ensure privacy. I could see the beautiful garden from my room and felt like I was in another world. The food was wonderful, and we enjoyed a delicate kaiseki meal made with seasonal ingredients. What particularly impressed me was the plump grilled fish and the gently sweet omelette. The breakfast was also luxurious and I felt full of energy in the morning. At the hot springs, I was able to relax and soothe my fatigue while looking out at the scenery of the Hakone Mountains. The staff's service was attentive and I was able to spend a pleasant time from beginning to end.Mr. Tamaniwa gave us unforgettable memories with his attention to detail and heartwarming service. If you are unsure about your trip to Hakone, please choose Tamaniwa.

Great, curated experience.1. The service was great! The lady who took care of us for tea, dinner and breakfast as well as introducing us to the Ryokan and etiquette is an absolute star! Really warm, caring, friendly and super punctual person - we appreciated her highly.2.The food was simply delicious with high quality ingredients where you could taste the freshness. We had a chance to try so many different dishes - kudos to the chef! A few examples: fresh crab sashimi, the best egg rolls, the ripest and absolutely best melon we've had in our lives, the softest beef ever (and we're not big beef fans in my household normally!), several types of amazing fishes.... Maybe the only thing is that it was just too much food and I could not finish!3. The setting is amazing. It's a quiet place with your privacy in mind. It's so peaceful for your soul to relax. The public baths are beautiful and both nights we stayed were empty. There is a pond with goldfish, and we had a lovely sitting room with a view just on it. It was great to read my book in the evening.4. The flat we had was spacious and bright - bathroom, toilet, our own hot spring tub!, kitchen, living room, sitting room, make up room and bed room. All with beautiful tatami mats.

So there are two ways you can look at this type of hotel experience… we booked one night as my partner wanted the “full experience” of sleeping in a Ryokan on the floor with the mats and being surrounded by gardens and Koi Carp, all good… …
