I would not recommend this hotel.Rooms are ok. They found a very cool solution for windows facing a wall - getting traditional looking window slides with a very nice soft light. Kudos for that 🙌But the rooms are not very clean. The staff is not helpful. They are not even available in later hours at reception. If you travel with partner and you need two keys to enter the room separately at different time - nope. Terrible house rules. Do not come to this hotel, there are plenty of affordable places nearby.Another positive thing that shall be mentioned is that they have a nice inside terrace, which you might appreciate if you are a smoker.

Very nice hotel situated in a quiet Kyoto area ..our room was clean and spacious in a modern japanese style…You can find a coffee machine with a good espresso and free water in the main hall..very appreciated in Japan!…saying this the front desk personal was very attentive and accomodate all our request …Only couple of things….1. the Wifi in the 1st floor rooms is the slowest in all Japan lol2. for some reasons they have policy that they won’t make up your room if you’re staying below 3 days?! ( clean towels are available at the front desk tho)Overall a great stay in this hotel!!! 🙏🏼

Not impressed and surprised by the rather unfriendly, overly brisk and impersonal check-in experience, public bath not working at all, garbage in lobby overly full, truly terrible pillows and being told no when we asked for two more (I know it’s Japan but we could not read in bed), we were disappointed relative to the experience we have had at other hotels/guest houses/Airbnbs in Japan. Didn’t bother trying to use the laundry after reading reviews. Rooms were nice, if small, but that’s to be expected. The restaurant in the lobby seemed nice but we didn’t try it out.

The location is very good as it is close to the Shijo Omiya bus stop and station, as well as a convenience store.Although it says that pajamas are not provided, there are actually gowns and slippers in the lobby, which was better than what was written in the hotel specifications.Coffee and tea are also available in the lobby. (Not in the room)However, the large public bath that I was looking forward to was out of order and turned into a storage area for used linens.Is it really out of order? It looked like he had no intention of fixing it.If there is a public bath, I would use it again due to the location and price, but if there is not...I might think about it.
