Originally, I had been to Uji once before and loved it so much that I came here again specifically to make this trip the perfect end to my study abroad life. Unexpectedly, this accommodation experience became the worst experience I had in Japan throughout the year. Watch it online The price was very cheap and it was close to the river, so I couldn't wait to book it. When I arrived, I looked at the dilapidated hut by the river and thought it was bankrupt, so I found the store's contact number online and found that the accommodation was opposite the hut. After entering, the house was in chaos, with tatami mats. Not only is it old and even moldy, but the owner is so rude and indifferent that an old man with limited mobility in the room came to receive him. I have stayed in an old Japanese-style house before. Although it is very old, both the floor and the bedding are very clean. However, this room can be said to be the worst sanitary condition I have ever seen in Japan. I felt itchy just looking at the room, so I canceled the order online. Considering that it would not affect the boss's business, I also specifically chose "because my schedule has changed", but after applying for cancellation, the boss refused to refund, regardless of Whether it was customer service intervention or direct communication in person, his attitude was very tough. I had no choice but to drag two 20-kilogram suitcases and rush to another hotel in the 35-degree temperature. Because it was too late, I couldn't go to any scenic spots, and I even suffered from heatstroke due to the high temperature. It really sucks. Since the boss is so tough, I also act in a responsible manner to help the guests behind me avoid lightning. If you want the worst experience, please book this B&B. As for the guests who eat here, I believe you won’t have an appetite if you go to the back kitchen. Thank you to this boss, I will not come to Uji again in the future.

I used it on a night tour of Byodoin Phoenix Hall.Located along the Uji River, it's perfect for a walk or a pleasure boat ride, and the location is great if you're walking. The room was right next to the entrance on the first floor, so I couldn't see the view from the window because there were no chairs to relax. Perhaps because it's the off-season, there are large signboards, souvenir guides, and other miscellaneous information placed around the entrance, making it a bit of a maze. The toilet in front of this room is for men only. Private toilets have A4 paper laminated guides to the second floor. The bathroom is a unit bath, and from the room you go through a staircase hallway to the first floor, which is like a separate building. When taking a bath, you fill the bathtub with hot water yourself. You can soak in the hot water that the previous customer poured, or you can replace it. I took a bath in Genji no Yu, so I haven't used it. There was only one group of customers other than me.The problem was that there was no response even when I tried to contact them in what appeared to be the kitchen, including during check-in. I called and got someone to help me, but for some reason, perhaps because the husband is old, the rhythm wavered even when I spoke to him. I was told that there are plenty of places for dinner within a 15-minute walk. The walking distance varies from person to person, but it was quite a distance for someone like me who has bad backs. There may be a nearby accommodation that offers meals or a coffee shop, but I haven't been able to find one. Unfortunately, I was unable to enjoy a leisurely meal as I had time to visit the temple at night. There were almost no shops nearby that were open after the visit.I couldn't understand it from the reviews, so I would like to make a complaint. I also asked for check-out, but I left with no response. There is no key to the room and it can only be locked from inside. It cost 5,500 yen for one night without meals, but I regret that I should have stayed at a proper place even if I paid a little more.

I had tempura soba for lunch. The location is good, but the customer service is overbearing. When I ate shrimp tempura, I was surprised to see hair coming out from inside. The head of the shrimp went into the mouth, but the hair was firmly stuck in the shrimp's tail. I felt disgusted (not that I was possessed) so I let it out of my mouth. When I told the staff, they didn't apologize and said, ``My staff is frying while wearing hats, so it's not our company. They're probably buying the shrimp with batter on it and just frying, so it's probably their company.'' It was a painful shift in responsibility. Even though it was my own restaurant that served shrimp tempura with hair in it. ``Shall I fry another shrimp?'' he says, but he has already eaten and the shrimp with hair in them is disgusting, so he declines. There was no drink service, and there was no exemption from the meal for one person because there was hair in it, which ruined the fun I had while sightseeing in Uji.

I used it for a night without meals and had no complaints. The location is great, and above all, it feels great to have a large room reserved for yourself.

Visited for lunch on a Saturday afternoon at a tatami room by the river. Although it is an old building, it has its own charm when the weather is nice. The view of the river is great and the location is great.Customer service seemed to be understaffed, and the service was slow, and I had to do things like pull out cushions and pour water myself. Contrary to the name of the store, there is no entertainment. I took 4 foreigners with me, so maybe I was just tired of being a tourist. Many of the other customers were also foreigners. As for the food, I had steamed eel rice and a mini colander set. The soba noodles were mediocre, but the steamed rice was delicious, so I recommend it. I also ate oyakodon that my child left behind, and it was pretty average. The price is high including sightseeing spots and location fees, but is it unavoidable? It is perfect for those who want to eat while looking out at the river.

I was planning to stay as a family of 5. I was surprised at the stairs from the entrance to the room and the condition of the room, so I left my luggage in the room and left immediately.I didn't want to go back to the room after dinner, so I went to get my luggage and checked out immediately, looking for another hotel. It can't be helped that it's cheap. I don't usually stay in luxury places, but I wouldn't recommend staying here.
