March 28, 2021Searching for the scent of springHotel Kanra KyotoThank you for taking care of me for 3 days♪The location is within walking distance from Kyoto Station and 2-3 minutes walk from Exit 8 of Gojo Station on the Karasuma Subway Line (^^)It was a stylish high class hotel❗️The rooms are spacious and comfortable as a maisonette type.Is the bath made of cypress? You can stretch your arms and legs and relieve your fatigue. The staff responded very kindly and politely (^^)We had Japanese and Western food for breakfast, but you can choose the time and type of main course at check-in.This makes me happy again! ️And finally, as a measure against the coronavirus, they took temperature checks and thoroughly disinfected their hands. There are quite a few restaurants in the surrounding area, and there is Higashi Honganji Temple next to the hotel, so you can go sightseeing as well. This is a hotel I would like to use again.

Rooms are ok but a bit worn.No Bar at all on site. There is a free bar in the lobby with basics, the wine had ran out after an hour and they wouldn't put another bottle out unit we spoke to reception. The whole process seemed to completely perplex the bar staff. Its a huge, dull waste of space and would be much more suited to a full service bar.

A beautiful hotel near Higashi Honganji Temple. This time, we had an experience hosted by the hotel in the lobby. We experienced gold leaf stamping with beautiful gold leaf made by Horikinpaku Powder, which was founded in 1711, and an adorable beckoning cat made by Shimada Koen Doll Studio, which was founded in 1859. It was a very Kyoto-like experience and I really enjoyed it. After experiencing gold leaf stamping, we received the hotel's original savory set and drinks. There were three types of tea to choose from, and I received herbal tea. Gold leaf was also used in the savory set. All the food and sweets were delicious. It was a wonderful memory.

Amazing location, right next to Gojo station, and one stop away from Kyoto station. Quiet area that’s not all hustle bustle with tourists. The rooms were impeccable and so unique. Then service was amazing. Would recommend everyone I know who visits Kyoto to stay here.

Hello all, I am a traveler from Louisville Kentucky in the United States. I usually dont post many reviews, but this hotel absolutely deserves one!Myself and 5 of my close friends stayed at this hotel for 3 nights, during our first trip to Japan. Also, unexpectedly, our stay happened to be during Japan's 10th Typhoon of 2024, Typhoon Shanshan. The hotel itself is beautiful and well maintained. The rooms are spacious, clean, and have all the creature comforts one would need during their stay. The breakfast was worth every yen, and we were treated to free drinks in the evening. The staff of this hotel went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable, relaxed, and cared for during our stay. I want to give a HUGE shout out to the guy at the front desk who helped us figure out travel plans during the typhoon. He helped turn a very stressful situation into a confident, executed game plan.We will absolutely be staying at this hotel during our next visit to Kyoto. You, reading this review, should book this hotel too. To all the staff at Hotel Kanra Kyoto, arigatou gozaimas!!

This was hands down the best hotel we stayed at in our time in Japan. The hotel was clean, well staffed and accommodating. Typhoon #10 had affected our travel and luggage plans from this hotel, but the staff member was able to help us adjust, and get the right services for us to be on our way despite the language barrier. The room was spacious, clean, and very nice. The little room onsen was very relaxing. Wish we could have spent more time here. Location is close to most convenience stores, and only a small bus or train ride away from anything else. The breakfast the hotel provides is delicious, and lots of variety to choose from. We didn't dine for dinner, but after having the breakfast we wish we did. The hotel provides laundry services for a few, and will pick up and drop off outside the door of your room. The room we stayed in had its own personal doorbell. We visited the shrine on Mt. Inari, about 30 minutes transit from the hotel with talk and train. Highly recommend.
