A great place to stay. It is a renovated machiya, so you can enjoy a peaceful break in Kyoto. Since we are a small family, we don’t like to mix with group guests in big hotels, so this kind of independent accommodation has become our first choice. I chose this one after many choices, and I was not disappointed. First, its layout is roughly one bedroom, one living room, one bathroom, and the space is not very huge, but it is enough for two or three people. It is no problem to open the 29-inch suitcase. Second, all the equipment we need is available, such as a fully equipped kitchen (with pots and cutlery, a microwave and a small oven, and a boiling pot), a bathtub, a toilet with a free seat, and beds for three people ( In fact, two single beds together are enough for two adults to take a nap, but the sofa bed can sleep one adult but it is not very flat), there is a washing machine (very important! There is also a small space for drying clothes), and there is also a TV ( Although it only has terrestrial waves and no BS or CS, it is still enough. Many machiya accommodations do not even have TVs.) The WIFI is also very fast. Although it is not a portable device but a fixed device, it usually comes with a Japanese SIM card, so it is not bad. Anyway, we have everything! Third, it is a SELF-CHECKIN type, which is really great. After you book a room, the manager will give you the password. When the time is up, you can open the door and go in. If you have any questions, contact the manager. If there is no problem, just CHECK OUT and leave on your own. That's great! Fourth, the location is perfect. There is a FRESCO supermarket and FAMILY across the alley, as well as a McDonald's. It takes about five minutes to walk to Sanjo and only 15 minutes to Shijo Kawara. If you really want to rush to Takashimaya to grab an evening lunch, you can , but it’s not too noisy like near Kawaramachi, it’s very quiet at night. It takes two minutes to walk to Higashiyama Subway Station, and five minutes to Keihan Sanjo Station, so it’s super convenient no matter what! However, when Taiwanese friends come to stay, they must pay attention to their etiquette, because the accommodation type of machiya is not a hotel, but more like Kyoto people living, so they should keep a low profile and quiet, and do not make too much noise after seven or eight o'clock ( (Because machiya is not well insulated), you have to sort and pack the garbage yourself (the owner will provide enough garbage bags), and wash and dry the tableware yourself. In short, if you lend your house to a friend, how long do you expect them to keep it if they leave? To the extent, that's it. Don't have the mentality of spending money to enjoy it like staying in a hotel. If something is lost, run away. Just treat it as your own home and maintain it, and you will have a wonderful vacation. In addition, the alley at the entrance of this accommodation is very small, probably as big as the Fire Alley in Taiwan, so if you are staying here for the first time, you must have the courage to walk into the alley. Just look for the 850 vegetable shop at the entrance of the alley and stop there. After getting out of the pickup truck, it’s a small alley that doesn’t look like a doorway. Just walk in. The front room is the Jing’an of the same owner. The second one is the Changxian’an. The last one is an ordinary private house. Don’t go there. Wrong and disturbing others.
