It's all good, location, staff, cleanliness etc BUT for some inexplicable reason they played Eminen and nothing but Eminem the whole time we were there. Eminen is not background breakfast or nightcap in a bar music!

We have stayed 3 nights for us, the best hotel in all of Japan from our experience, starting with the fantastic rooms, we went on a honeymoon trip and on the first day they gave us a bunk room. When they found out, they changed us without any problem to another room and gave us some gift cards. house invitation cocktail. The staff is really friendly, they treated us great and were always available for anything we needed, they were really super helpful and I have to highlight Hiroto, a hotel waiter who speaks several languages and made us spend a very pleasant evening but in general everyone was very friendly and the Great food, we had dinner there all 3 nights and everything was great. I recommend this hotel to everyone who goes to Kyoto.

Absolutely beautiful hotel! We had a great time staying here. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The food at the restaurant was so delicious. And they offered free sake tastings to guests. The location was perfect and walking distance from shops and the river. The room itself felt spacious enough for two of us and our luggage and was always kept very clean. I highly recommend this place to anyone in Kyoto!
