The location of the hotel is very good. You can see the Kamogawa River from the room. Although it is in the lively Pontocho, the room is very quiet and comfortable. The breakfast is rich and delicious! The proprietress was very kind and enthusiastic. Because I wanted to buy carp streamers, she even called the store to see if they sold them. Knowing that I was going to Shimogamo Shrine, she also brought me a map to introduce me to great Saryo shops nearby, and so on. The attentive service is very touching.

Located on the banks of Kamogawa River, the best place to enjoy cherry blossoms! It's a traditional hotel, but it's well-equipped and the owner is considerate and attentive to his guests. Every time I come back, I say as if I'm home...I'm back! After serving tea or breakfast, she would chat with me, exchange views on the scenic spots I had visited, and also recommend some of her favorite spots to me! I was very happy to spend three days and two nights. I was reluctant to check out! They sent me to a flat lane to facilitate the luggage. After walking for a while, I looked back and saw that they were still waving goodbye! Suddenly my heart palpitated💗⋯I will definitely come again next time!

It's been a while since I last stayed here, but they remembered what I did last time, and I was as relaxed as before. Breakfast was also delicious.

Lovely experience! My husband and I decided to stay here for our last day in Japan for our honeymoon trip. The owners were very friendly and hospitable towards us. They taught us a lot about traditional Japanese culture and made an amazing traditional Japanese meal. Not to mention, there are also a lot of resturants thay are walking distance. Our room also have a lovely view of the river. I highly recommend staying here a couple of nights for an amazing experience. :)

My wife and I (newlyweds) stayed here a few days ago, and I have to say: it was the best Ryokan we stayed at in our 2 week trip (we stayed in 4 or 5 others). The service was perfect - they spoke English, but let us practice our Japanese, the breakfasts were outstanding - traditional and perfect portions, and the street that it is on (Pontocho) is lively, full of great restaurants and bars but still a quiet stay. It's also very close to buses and trains and subways (5 minute walk). The people that work here are so charming and kind. They showed us how to feed birds out of our window (overlooking the river), taught us about the area and history, and made us cloth cranes with a prayer for a happy life (we were blown away by this gesture). They were so thoughtful when we were going out for the day, and gave us umbrellas when they realized we hadn't checked the weather (it rained. A lot. They saved us!). They really made the trip so special.I could not recommend this place enough. Seriously, you want to stay here.

I stayed for one night.I stayed in a room on the second floor, and everything about the building, the atmosphere of the room, and the view of the Kamogawa River from the window was wonderful. The breakfast served in the room was also great. There is also a Japanese restaurant attached to the hotel, so I would like to use that next time.It was a good trip.
