I recently stayed at Hyoue in Kibune, Kyoto, and it was truly the highlight of our entire trip to Japan! From the moment we arrived, the experience was nothing short of magical. Our traditional Japanese room offered breathtaking views of the river and forest, and the soothing sound of the flowing water created a serene atmosphere that was simply enchanting. The room itself was spacious, beautifully designed, and well-equipped with all the amenities we could need. It was the perfect blend of comfort and authenticity, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in the traditional Japanese experience.Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed with a delightful snack of monaka (azuki sandwich) and matcha, which set the tone for our stay. The thoughtful touches like this made us feel truly special and appreciated. The service at Hyoue was exceptional. The owner was incredibly sweet and made us feel right at home, while our host, Akiko, was genuinely caring and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed throughout our stay. The food was another highlight—both dinner and breakfast were delicious, showcasing local flavors and ingredients. We also loved the option to borrow yukata (casual kimono) to wear during our meals, adding an extra touch of authenticity to the experience. As night fell, the bustling tourist town transformed into a peaceful oasis. We enjoyed the unique opportunity to visit nearby shrines without a single person in sight, creating a tranquil and almost ethereal atmosphere.Overall, Hyoue provided us with an unforgettable experience that we will cherish forever. I can't recommend it highly enough for anyone looking to experience the beauty and tranquility of Kyoto. It truly was the highlight of our Japan trip!

I used it at Kawadoko Cafe. The seat fee is 500 yen for 30 minutes, so you have to leave your seat after 30 minutes.I ordered Monaka and iced coffee, and the view of the riverbed was beautiful and I had a great time.

The worst service experience in Japan. The indoor coffee shop is totally empty. We don't want to go to the riverside seat because my father is suffering leg pain, therefore we asked if we can order the coffee and sit inside for less than 30 mins. The staff refused us to sit inside although they cannot specify by what time they have the reservation. Worst attitude server I experienced in Japan anyway.

I came on a trip to Kyoto because I wanted to go to a river bed.It was about 5℃ lower than in the city, so it was colder than cool.Conger eel course with Mr. Oku-Kifunebei!All of them were delicious, but the grilled conger eel was the best😀You can eat the whole young sweetfish from the head down ~ Soft ~The internal organs are a little bitter, but cold sake goes well with it😀The hamo nabe was also delicious. The Nakai's story is interesting 🤣 The service is also greatI would definitely like to visit againThank you for the meal😋

I was really disappointed with this dish. My wife and I were looking forward to going here for the first time in three years, but my wife and I came back disappointed, probably because the head chef had changed. The next day when we got back, we both felt bad and felt the same way as when we threw away the money. You can't get that dish for 37,000 yen. Deer meat smells fishy! I don't want to eat venison. Chicken was still better and I struggled to swallow it. My wife went to the bathroom. Tomato and somen? You can eat it at home. What about dessert? That...a piece of white pudding...before the taste...I was so disappointed that I could only laugh. I could eat the sweetfish with soup after adding dashi soup, but the carp that came out first had very bad bones! I'm glad it didn't hit me in the throat. Ordinary medium-sized fatty tuna or sea bream is much better. I would like to ask what the president, head chef, and landlady think about when serving the food. I've eaten food all over the world, but it's been a long time since I've had a bad meal. This dish was a real waste of money. The score is 0, but one star is the lowest, so I have no choice but to give it one star. I don't have enough time left in my life to go eat that dish again. It used to be a good store. All I can say is that I'm disappointed. I will never go there again! I'm writing something harsh, but if things continue as they are now, this store will disappear. Originally a very good store. The customer service is also very good, with veteran staff. I think it would be better if they reconsidered their cooking. It's a pity that I can't see it.
