Saturday, August 24, 2024I booked 3 consecutive nights on Agoda to combine the Hokkaido Marathon and travel.I will be staying for three consecutive nights, and I would prefer a quiet place with a nice view, so I requested a higher floor when making the reservation.By the way, the cost for a twin room for two people for three nights was 67,221 yen (11,203 yen per person per night). I'm staying overnight without meals. To be honest, I thought it was a little expensive, but it's around the marathon and summer vacation, so I guess that's what it's like.I arrived before noon, so I left my luggage, finished my business, and checked in a little after 2:00 p.m.There were two of us, but they only gave us one card key, and when I said, ``Please give me two keys because there are two of us,'' they said, ``Excuse me.''They gave me another one, but at this point I was a little unsure. Also, even though I left my luggage there, they didn't carry it to my room and just handed it over to me, so I got the impression that the service was a bit poor considering I was paying a good price.Well, it's on the top floor, so I was surprised when I entered the room, thinking that they had listened to my request.I don't know if it's under construction or not, but I can only see construction scaffolding outside the window (photo attached)It's true that I requested a high floor, but I've never heard of a room where you can only see the scaffolding.I couldn't resist calling the front desk and requesting a room change, but the staff member who came to my room said, ``We can't move you because it's already full today.''It may be a bit of a nuisance, but I say things like, ``If that's the case, you should have told them in advance that you're going to have a room like this,'' ``They should have understood your intentions by the time you requested the top floor,'' and ``There should be some kind of service with this kind of view.'' I did, but it's not too much to say, right? I'm paying a high price. The staff member said, ``Okay, I'll think about it,'' and backed off, but I was left alone for about 30 minutes.Well, I guess they were thinking about it, but they had various plans planned, and they kept getting delayed. panic.I finally got a call and they said, ``Sorry, another room has been arranged for me.'' Well, everything turned out okay, but what was the point when they said they couldn't move me at the beginning? To be honest, I was left with a sense of disbelief, thinking that they hadn't thought about it carefully.Well, the room I moved to had a decent view, there were no particular problems with the facilities, and it was reasonably spacious and comfortable, so I have no complaints, but my impression of this hotel was pretty bad from the start. In the first place, you shouldn't let customers into a room where you can only see the scaffolding, and I think you should give them a discount from the beginning and only allow satisfied customers to stay, but they're the ones who made reservations three months in advance and paid a lot of money. That's no good.Otherwise, I think it's a good hotel with a good location and sufficient facilities, but I was very disappointed. As a side note, there was a lot of footsteps echoing everywhere, probably from the room next door or training all the time, which was disappointing. The hotel may not be responsible, but the soundproofing may not be a good idea.
