Nice Ryokan. Big rooms. Common bathroom area. Very clean & aesthetic.Staff are quite helpful & sell tickets and passes at reception. Booking comes with free onsen access to 3 basic onsens nearby. Very basic.A slight uphill trek to the ski lodge. The area just outside the hotel has a beautiful tori gate.

Ebiya sits on the slopes of Mt. Zao, one of the largest mountains in Japan. In the summer, you can climb to the summit (or drive to near the top, or take ski lifts much of the way and huff it the rest). …

If I had to describe this inn in one word, I would say it was a home run.In terms of disadvantages, there is no elevator inside the hotel, there are a few steps up the stairs, there are no refrigerators or air conditioners in the guest rooms, it is a short walk from the guest room to the public bath, and the parking lot is far from the inn. However, the hot water was a home run, and I was convinced that this was due to the strong quality of the hot springs.Hijiori Onsen in Yamagata also had excellent spring quality, but Zao has a different type of excellent spring quality. The water quality is so good that you can feel the tingling sensation the moment you soak in the hot water. This is an acidic spring that is 100% natural from the source. .I've been to many hot springs so far, but the hot water was top class, and the large public bath was large enough for the inn's capacity, so I was able to relax and enjoy the rich hot springs without being crowded even on Saturdays and Sundays. .And in exchange for the strong and wonderful quality of the hot springs, the electrical appliances seem to break easily, so I was convinced that there were no elevators, refrigerators, or air conditioners in the inn, and that the public bath and parking lot needed to be located as far away as possible. I can live with that level for a long time, and I think it's unwise to deduct points for this level. Also, although it was a hot day in the city, close to 30 degrees Celsius, Zao is deep in the mountains, so there was a nice breeze blowing, and just opening the windows was enough to cool me down, and even if I didn't have a refrigerator, I could rent out a cooler box. There were no particular problems, and I think it's worth the short walk from the parking lot.Next is the food, which is also a home run.The combination of high-quality Genghis Khan, which is enough even for a standard dish, and dishes that make use of local produce such as warabi and urui is the best.I think each ryokan has a different concept, but it was a very satisfying dinner that was both unique and delicious. The guest room was also a renovated room, but it was clean and comfortable, with a toilet with a washlet and Wi-Fi, and I think it's probably a family-run business, and the people at the inn also appreciated the hot water. The customer service was polite and friendly without being arrogant, and I was satisfied with everything at the inn. With reasonable accommodation rates and rooms and food that are suitable for young people, it is a precious inn that I would like young people to stay at and learn about the hot springs and the good ryokan culture.

It seems like it has been recently renovated, and both the rooms and common areas are very clean. The hot springs come from our own source! The quality and temperature of the spring water are perfect! The rice was plentiful and very delicious. The best thing about it is that the upper public bath is right in front of you.The host was very responsive and I felt comfortable. Please note that there is no elevator, and the room does not have an air conditioner or refrigerator.Electrical appliances often do not last more than a year due to metal corrosion caused by hot spring gas, and it is said that installation is difficult (which is proof that the hot springs are rich). It seems difficult to maintain the equipment!Landlady, how should I deal with the recent heat wave? was worried. There is a TV in the room (apparently it sometimes breaks down). There is a drink vending machine at the entrance.Although there is no refrigerator, you can rent a cooler box.

Thank you for your help during the year-end and New Year holidays. There were a lot of customers and it seemed like a busy place. It's a great place for hot springs, the baths at the ryokan are good, and I enjoyed the outdoor bath right in front of me. It is somewhat inconvenient for skiing.

I stayed with 4 friends. The hot springs were fed directly from the source, and were the perfect way to warm up your frozen body! The water pressure in the shower was sometimes weak, but...For dinner, I had Genghis Khan. A larger amount of meat came out than I expected. Both imoni and tama konjac will be served, so you can enjoy all the food of Yamagata! The white rice is from home-grown Haenuki rice. It was so great. The landlady who served the customers? He was also a friendly and kind person! The public bath is located in front of the inn.

The building has an old feel, but the rooms were clean and comfortable. The customer service was very kind, polite, and pleasant. And above all, the rice is the best. It's hearty and delicious. I was impressed by how delicious Yamagata's local cuisine is.The hot springs were also very pleasant, and my body, which had been suffering from muscle fatigue from snowboarding, felt less fatigued.I would definitely like to use them again. This is an inn that I would recommend you to try staying at least once.

Dinner was Genghis Khan,I thought it was frozen meat, but it wasn't. It was raw and had no taste and was very delicious. Homemade pumpkin pudding tooIt was very delicious. The bath is also very nice with the water flowing directly from the source. It's a little bothersome that it smells like sulfur, but it's a big deal. It's warm. The shower is fresh waterYou can use it as shampoo.

I stayed one night to see the frost-covered trees.Although it was reasonably priced, the dinner was a hearty Genghis Khan, and the open-air bath was really hot and rich. The customer base was mostly college students and groups just starting out, and they were drinking parties until late at night, so it was noisy, but I guess it can't be helped since the prices are reasonable. The upper bath of the public bath was right in front of me, so I was able to easily go there. The people at the hostel were also kind and nice.
