It was my first time staying at Akiu Kai, and I was very satisfied with the baths, meals, and impeccable hospitality. I was a little disappointed that there weren't many souvenirs to buy on the way home (lol)I'll do my best to stay the night again.

A hotel in the Hoshino resort world that opened in April 2024 in Akiu Onsenkyo, a back parlor in Sendai that flourished as a royal hot spring for the imperial family. Located along the Natori River, a little far from the hot spring town, all 49 guest rooms face the mountain stream. There are no rooms with open-air baths. The public bath is located a short distance from the main building through a passageway. Being a Goryo Onsen, the quality of the water is good and you can enjoy a bath in the spacious open-air bath. Dinner is served in a private dining room. This time I chose a special kaiseki meal. We enjoyed the exquisite menu made with local ingredients, including Sendai's famous beef tongue. The staff was very responsive and it was a place where you could stay with peace of mind.

I had booked a trip for my wedding anniversary and was looking forward to it even before it opened. After walking around Rairikyo Gorge, which is the concept behind the room, I entered the hotel and my expectations were even higher.I enjoyed Kai Akiho to the fullest by participating in the Seseragi Lounge, hot spring Iroha, large public bath, dinner, fancy banquet, live music, and morning exercise. At the Seseragi Lounge, you can enjoy alcoholic drinks, fresh sweets, and Sendai sweets. At Onsen Irohaha, you can listen to an explanation from the hot spring guardian and receive a hot spring stamp book. At a fancy banquet, you can learn about the rules of drinking (amazake is also available). However, due to the rainy weather when we arrived, we could not use the outdoor area of the Seseragi Lounge and could not take a footbath. Also, the passageway leading to the public bath was a long way away, and some parts were drenched due to the rain. The live performance in the evening was Tsugaru Shamisen, but I couldn't listen to it because I couldn't fit into the lounge.I did a lot of research and stayed here, and although I was a bit busy and participated in some activities, I was very satisfied with my time there as check-out time was 12:00 the next day.On the way back, we received a special stamp at Akiu Shrine and went to Akiu Otaki to enjoy Akiu to the fullest.

Three of my best friends are going around the world in order.Akiu gets 100 points for its beautiful scenery from the front windows of each room and the relaxing atmosphere inside the inn!If possible, I felt that it would be even better if there was something special about the hot spring part, as it was a normal hot spring with less special feeling. It may have been a coincidence, but I felt that the customers were more elderly than in other circles.I think the open-air bath in particular is too deep for elderly people.

A level of service that reduces brand value.I stayed here to celebrate my wife's birthday.Anyway, the response from female staff S was very bad.At dinner, my wife's shishito pepper tempura was so spicy that it numbed her tongue and lips (on the level of super-spicy chili peppers). When I checked to see if it had been mistaken for another ingredient, the kitchen staff didn't even check and said, ``That can't be true.It was spicy.'' "Only"The food was served in a sloppy manner, with no aftercare (such as caring for my wife's health or providing water), and without any proper explanation. When I asked, ``I'm still not satisfied with the explanation I just gave, so I'd like to hear from the person in charge of cooking,'' he gave me a clearly troubled look and said, ``I'll call you,'' and I waited for 20 minutes. I waited for more than a minute, but no one came.If it takes a long time, could you at least give me a rough estimate of the time? Moreover, the food was not served at all during that time, and the food was still being served.Sticky barley rice and beef tassels were left on the side of the room. The food was completely cold. After that, the person in charge of cooking came and gave a detailed explanation.I was satisfied with this, but since I came here to celebrate, I was very disappointed in this response. In other cases, when a child dropped a fork and was looking for it, someone seemed angry and said, ``I'll get a replacement!'' and the dropped fork was left alone and left in a mess.I was treated well by other staff, but...I had a sense of security from the Hoshino Resorts brand "Kai", but I felt like everything was ruined after receiving such hit-or-miss service.By the way, the quality of the accommodation other than the service was not particularly impressive for the facility itself, and it was clean and at the Oedo Onsen Monogatari premium level.

Second stay. I'm satisfied. The rice is also delicious. The bath is also good. It's nice in the morning. Even though it was raining, I want to come again. I was very moved by the evening drinking class and the koto performance.

The public bath is in a separate building. To get there, you have to climb a hill of about 100m.There are no elevators or escalators, so going uphill is a must.It is a difficult facility for those who are not in good physical condition, so it seems to be difficult for the elderly.

I was able to enjoy a comfortable and high-class vacation.I checked in at 3:00 PM to increase my stay at the inn. Arrived at Sendai Airport in the morning, stopped at Zao (Imaichi Deshita), had lunch, saw Akiu Otaki (very nice, but for some reason there were 5 police cars and couldn't park in the parking lot), and then arrived at the inn. is.I think the spirit of hospitality is truly outstanding. Many of the employees are young, and when I asked about recommended restaurants nearby, they immediately introduced me to various restaurants. When I asked for recommended restaurants at an inn in a rural area where there were a lot of older people, I was told, ``Well, I don't know anything about this area. I'm sure a young person could look it up.'' I still remember that. I think this is what hospitality is all about. (Although the price was about the same...)I really like the idea of developing as a region by introducing not only your own inn but also the tourist spots around you.The stay at the inn was stress-free, and the food was satisfying. (The beef tongue was boiled...I wanted to try grilled...)I love having a nap bed next to the window because it allows me to spend a relaxing time!
