It's small and feels strangely calming. Although the rooms are small, the toilets and baths are shared, and you have to go outside, we are satisfied with the location and cute cottages. The starry sky is amazing🥹💕

I stayed on a weekday in October with a last minute reservation. The exterior was very cute and clean, and right in front of the lodge there was a BBQ set that was perfect for two people (aside from the ingredients), which was also cute. The host's sense of distance and the atmosphere are cozy, and even though it is quite far from where I live, it is a place I would like to visit again. As I was traveling in the footsteps of the tsunami victims, I read the history of the inn in the booklet in my room, and it was even more emotional.Thank you for your help, and I will definitely visit you again when I come to this area.

#Hotel where you can meet the stars - Forest Cottage KesennumaIt’s Haru, Spring, Spring🥰He suddenly said, ``The weather is nice, I'll take you anywhere ✨ Decide on a place to stay 🤗.''Where do you want to go? !🥴Being indecisive, I decided to go to Yamagata for soba noodles and a hot spring♨? Strawberry picking in Fukushima 🍓? Iwate? Kuji is far away...Akita Aomori for 2 nights or more...Well then, let's go to Kesennuma and look for it."Hotel where you can meet the stars - Mori no Cottage Kesennuma" happened to be vacant. When you climb up a residential area a little, you go back in time for a moment. !Did you fly through time and space? !Even though I had seen the photos on Google Maps, the scenery was so wide that I thought I had wandered into a fairyland...2011.3.11 2:46 pmThe Great East Japan Earthquake occurredThe owner, Mr. Tomiyama, who used to run a jazz cafe in Rikuzentakata, had his shop washed away, and this building was built on the site of the cafe as a base for accepting volunteers. When the site became a site for raising land and we were wondering whether to remove it or relocate it, Mr. Ito, who had been affected by the disaster in Kesennuma, came across this place in Kesennuma, and was running a pension jointly with Mr. Tomiyama.Mr. Ito became ill and passed away, and Hiroshi Suzuki (Hiroshi Uoyama), who came across the cottages that were temporarily vacant, breathed life into them again as a rental owner from Golden Week 2023.Hiroshi Suzuki experienced the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake, and in April, one month after the Great East Japan Earthquake, he came to Kamaishi as a volunteer in the Tohoku region, and while continuing volunteer activities such as cleaning up debris in various places, he felt the sadness of the victims. He started an NPO to continue passing on the folklore of the disaster, and has been the owner since Golden Week 2023, splitting his time between his home in Morioka and the village in Kesennuma. He is a very gentle, calm, and warm person, and when he talks to him, he speaks in a way that makes you feel kind even to your heart. When we arrived at dusk and returned after purchasing food, we found wonderful bamboo lights and crackling bonfires waiting for us (they apparently gave us the ones made for a memorial event at Okawa Elementary School). Wow, that’s wonderful❗” I exclaimed.Bath and toilet are in separate buildingThere is Wi-Fi but no TVJust the sound of the wind, birdsong, and frogs singing. We had local bread and Bavarois for breakfast. As a bonus, he grilled me bananas🍌 and sweet potatoes, and we had a truly wonderful night. He is continuing his activities to connect the precious memories of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake and the Great East Japan Earthquake, organize the memories that were tragic or cannot be digested by himself, and pass on the importance of life. Why not go and meet Hiroshi Suzuki? We are also hosting the ``One Million Sparklers Night'' for the restoration and repose of the Light of Hope Project, where you remember your loved ones who have become stars, and we will never forget you.If you're lucky, you might even be able to meet the stray 😺-chans, Namion-kun and Chikara-kun.It's a fairyland that can be reached just by climbing a gravel road from the residential area, with Supermiya just around the corner. This is a fairy-tale-like space recommended for those who want to spend a quiet time ✨The bathtub is small and there is no washroom space.I hope people will remember that it was a space where the volunteers worked hard to rebuild and rest while living on the bare minimum. There is also a nice super public bath nearby by car, so I think it would be a good idea to relax there.

Used by 1 person for 1 night. It was a very cute cottage and the room was wonderful ✨There is a communal kitchen, so you can also prepare your own meals. Some people were making meals using their own camping kits. There are 6 rooms, 5 for 2 people and 1 for a family. The owner was very kind and guided us to a place where we could see fireflies after dinner. It's a pitch-black place, so you can't go there alone. It seems that many people stay for 2 nights, so it is recommended for those who want to relax in nature. There is also a supermarket 1 km away. There is one bathroom and one sink for men and women, so you have to take turns, but if there are few guests, you can use it relatively freely. The rooms and washrooms are kept very clean, so even people who are not good at camping can have a good time here. There is also a washing machine and a refrigerator that can be shared.Best cost performance! I definitely want people who want to spend their time freely to stay here ✨

We had a great stay at Mori no cottage. The rooms are well equipped, and everything was very clean and tidy. The owner was very friendly and generous during our stay. Being able to sit around the fire in the evening and light sparklers was fun! Really good value for money, and having access to a kitchen and seated area was great.
