The August reservation was successfully made for the second night of January next year. I also received the confirmation letter and paid for my ticket. On October 12th, I received a notice that I could only make a one-night reservation! The itinerary was all scheduled, so I had to cancel and lose tens of thousands of yuan in ticket fines! disappointing

I arrived in autumn and the atmosphere was very good. I didn’t book a hotel and I couldn’t afford to stay there. I believe it would be beautiful when it snows in winter. It’s a place worth visiting once in a lifetime, preferably in winter.

I called a long time ago and asked when I could make a reservation for February next year, and I was able to make a reservation from October! They replied, but reservations are already starting in September, not October. That's too troublesome. Even though I've been searching the site since October 1st, it was fully booked.

Good pointsStaying at a quaint innBoth dinner and breakfast were deliciousTowels are provided at the entrance for foot baths.Bad pointsAs the name of the inn suggests, this is a Showa-era hotel, and I don't think it can be helped to compare it to modern hotels, but I'm writing this down with the hope that I would like this service.・The temperature cannot be adjusted because the air conditioning is all in one place.→It was hot, so I wanted to open the window (it was cooler outside), but there was no screen, so I opened the window a little and closed the sliding door, but stink bugs came in when I opened and closed it.I thought it would have been nice to have a screen door (sorry if it's a snowy country)・There is no indoor bath in the room.・No amenitiesNo lotions after bathingThere are no hair ties, cotton, or brushes.I received an email telling me to buy what I needed before coming to the convenience store because it was 20 minutes away, but I didn't check in detail to see what was missing. There are machines for drinking water in paper cups after taking a bath in front of the hot springs on the second floor and in front of the lobby, but the water from the vending machines is also the size of the smallest plastic bottle, so if you drink a lot of water, it's better to buy it. It might be good.(There was water boiling in the pot, and there was a paid bottle of water in the refrigerator.)The front desk told me to read the room information carefully, so I read it, but when I went to the bathroom on the 6th floor, I was surprised to find that there was no washing area (I was careless).I thought it would be nice if there was a note on the door as well.It seems like foreigners don't know bath etiquette, and I've seen some violations of etiquette, such as the hot water from the shower splashing into the bathtub and soaking towels in the bathwater.I was wondering if I was being warned. (I think it's just a cultural difference and not knowing, so I'm wondering if you're doing something to make people aware)I should have chosen a room facing the river, but I was disappointed because I could only see the cliff and the adjacent wall from the window.I don't know about other inns, so I don't know, but for better or worse, it was an inn that reminded me of the times.

I was concerned about mold in the bathroom above the ceiling, but the hot water was very good. I received a lot of solace from the night view from my room along the river, and the food I had here was also extremely delicious. The reception and hospitality of the two young men was superb. thank you very much. I would definitely like to stay again if I have the chance.

It was my first time to go to Ginzan Onsen, but since most of the inns along the river are a bit small and the town itself is small, I think that creates a good old-fashioned hot spring town atmosphere, which I think gives it a really good taste. I did. 😊At Showakan, first of all, the hostess and other employees provided warm customer service, and although there was no waitress assigned to the room, I think the customer service was just right. We had a shuttle bus to and from Oishida Station, which was quite a distance, but I was really grateful. 🙇‍♂️The room we stayed in was on the 3rd floor, the dining room was on the 4th floor, the public bath was on the 2nd floor, and the observation bath was on the 5th floor, so it was easy to move around in the small building. 👍Also, the large public bath had 3 washing areas and the bathtub was large enough to accommodate 3 people, but perhaps because there were not many customers, I only bumped into other customers during the morning bath. The meals had a lot of wild vegetables that are unique to Yamagata (?), which I personally liked, but I thought it would be unsatisfying for young people and foreigners.Of course, the beef was exquisite. 🤗The rooms in the hotel were spacious and I was able to stay comfortably.I was completely satisfied with Showakan, but I'm a little curious about other accommodations. 😅
