I stayed in a Japanese-style room that was renovated in August 2024. The Japanese-Western room has a Simmons bed, but the Japanese-style room has a standard Maruhachi futon with an Airweave mattress. The food was creative and very good. The quality of the hot springs was perfect.

Although it is a historical inn, there are bed-type rooms that we used.In the morning, afternoon and evening, you can enjoy coffee, milk, homemade pudding and other sweets at the front lounge. The sweet pudding was very delicious. The baths are fed directly from the source, and the water is highly acidic, making it very warm. The meal was delicious and served in a private room in the dining room, with a plan that focused on quality and small portions. In particular, the sashimi, Yonezawa beef tagine pot-grilled, and the eel seasoned rice were excellent. Also, the part-time waiter from Kansai was polite and very friendly, making the meal even more delicious. When we were leaving, the woman at the front desk kindly and politely came outside to see us off.

Located in the center of Zao's hot spring town, it can be said to be in the best location, with a sake museum right in front, restaurants and footbaths nearby. It was the day after the Obon rush period, so there were very few tourists, let alone foreigners, so it was a very pleasant time. The inn's services include serving local sake, small bites, and soba noodles in the lobby, and serving coffee, chai, and jelly in the morning, so that you can enjoy your stay without meals. The hot springs are slimy and cloudy with a light sulfur smell. There are also two private 24-hour baths (indoor baths) that can be enjoyed by both families and couples. It's not far from the ropeway, and you can also enjoy Zao mountain climbing and tracking the day before or the next day. Since it was summer this time, I felt like I would like to come and see the winter scenery someday.Overall, this is a recommended inn with a good balance between in-house services and external factors due to its location.I didn't take any photos, so I had to refer to other people's photos.

The white cloudy hot water available 24 hours a day was the best. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. The accessories inside the building are also cute.I chose to reduce the quantity and improve the quality of the meal, but it was not good.

Although the weather was not cool due to the typhoon, I was very satisfied and had a great time just staying at Wakamatsuya. Every detail in the hotel is taken care of and the staff are all very kind. Each meal was carefully prepared with gentle flavors and beautifully presented, and the desserts and bottled milk in the lounge were also delicious. I would like to go again in a different season.

I've stayed here twice in the past. This is my favorite inn.Free drinks and snacks are available in front of the front desk for you to use.All of them have a wide variety and it's fun to choose. The homemade puddings were delicious. Bottled milk was also free, which was great after a bath.In addition to the large public bath, there are two family baths in the hot springs, and anyone can use them at any time as long as they are empty. It's just the right size for 1 to 2 people to stretch out.I really appreciate that they have water and candy near the hot springs. I went to take a bath many times, but it was amazing that there were no paper cups piled up in the trash can.I like the hot springs because they are sulfur springs that come straight from the source, and they have a strong scent that gives you a strong feeling of being in a hot spring. Both dinner and breakfast had gentle flavors and I felt that they were all carefully prepared. The quantity is also very satisfying. The view from the room is good and you can see the mountains beautifully.I also think that you can spend a relaxing time without too many people around the inn.I like the fact that the source water flows through the city like a river, giving it the feel of a hot spring area.I love traveling and hot springs, so I often stay at hot spring inns, but I don't think there are any that can beat Wakamatsuya.Thank you very much for the wonderful time. I'll visit you again!

The acidic spring smells like sulfur, and the image of a hot spring that you have always imagined is still there♨️The private bath is also free, and if it is empty, you are free to lock it.When you enter the entrance of the hotel, there is a lobby where you can relax and enjoy coffee, milk, pudding, etc. upon arrival and after taking a bath. It's helpful for small children because they prepare children's lunches both in the morning and in the evening.
