I stayed for 1 night and 2 days. I was looking for a hotel with a large room that was close to the station, railway museum, and aquarium, but it was better than I expected, so I'm very satisfied.-The room was not only spacious, but the futon, floor, and equipment (towels, futons, home appliances) were clean and comfortable.・The room was fully equipped with a microwave, kettle, refrigerator, pajamas, and washing machine, and I was able to drink delicious coffee with a capsule coffee maker.・As a welcome drink, we were served matcha tea and Japanese sweets, which gave us a feel of Kyoto and were very delicious.・The employees seemed to be very kind and were very considerate. It's a place I would definitely want to stay at again, and I highly recommend it!

Wow, this place is amazing! It’s a ryokan, a traditional Japanese inn, and a hidden gem in Kyoto! It has that simplistic Japanese elegance, and it’s modern and brand new. Our room was extremely spacious— large seating/living area with the traditional low table, a separate bed area (and the bed is comfortable!), and a huge walk-in shower with a massive bamboo soaking tub. The staff members were all so accommodating—welcome green tea made on arrival, in-house traditional Japanese breakfast by request (my husband loved this), and recommendations on where to go in Kyoto. They even called and made us reservations in Japanese for a restaurant we were trying to get into. The location is about a mile away from the main sites, which is probably why the price is still affordable/much less expensive than other similar ryokans. But it’s literally a block from the Umekoji train station. We usually just took a taxi to the main areas like Gion, and it was about 10 USD each way (also just tell the driver Umekoji bc they typically don’t speak any English). There’s an Izakaya a couple doors down, which had good food. They didn’t speak much English, but it wasn’t difficult to point at which skewered meat we wanted. They also have an English menu you can access online with a QR code. Overall, loved this ryokan and would definitely come back!
