Stayed on a weekday during the off-season. There were only 4-5 customers. There were almost no tourists in the whole hot spring area, so it was peaceful and quiet. It is located in front of Zao Bus Terminal, so it is very convenient for bus users. The room was a Japanese-style room and was very spacious and I was able to relax. The bath is a strongly acidic sulfur spring unique to Zao. There are about 4 private baths, and reservations are required. You can only reserve once in the evening and once in the morning, so I couldn't use them all. There aren't many customers, so if it's empty, I'd be happy if they let me in. The quality of the spring water is the same, all 100% flowing directly from the source, and the temperature of the water was just right and felt comfortable. However, the large indoor bath was a bit hot and I couldn't take a long bath. When I told the wait staff about this, they said, ``Even if you asked me...'' I guess it's service to convey that to the hostess. The food was very delicious, including grilled Yamagata beef on a ceramic plate.

I was disappointed that foreigners put their washed towels in the bathtub.

I used it as a 43 year old man on a lonely solo trip.If you take the bus bound for Zao Onsen from Yamagata Station and get off at the last stop, it's right across the street. All the staff were kind. The food is quite voluminous. I would say that it is better to stop eating sweets and sweets before arriving at the inn. You may find yourself lying down immediately after eating it, but it's such a great dish that you'll want to enjoy it thoroughly.Basically, meals are served in your room. The hot springs are fed directly from the source. It is a milky white sulfur hot spring. It will warm your body.I'm traveling alone, but it's recommended for couples, couples, and two girls traveling together. This trip has been very tiring, but I am feeling refreshed and ready to do my best again.

We stayed at Tsuruya Gosen no Yu on a family trip to Yamagata Prefecture. It is an old-fashioned hot spring inn with a long-established feel, and although the interior is a little worn out, the staff were kind and helpful, which left a very good impression.Guests can use a private bath for 50 minutes and choose from four types. There is also an open-air bath in the large public bath that is not reserved for private use.Since the water is fed directly from the source and there is no temperature control, the temperature varies depending on when you enter the bath, and when you took a bath it was so hot that you couldn't take a long bath, but by the morning the temperature was just right. It was my first time experiencing a milky white hot spring with strong acidity, but I think it will be enjoyable for those who don't mind the smell of sulfur. The Japanese-style room had a good amount of space for a family of four and didn't feel cramped, but the air conditioner was a window air conditioner and the operating noise was a concern. It seems that they used fan coil units in the past, but whole-house air conditioning must be quite expensive, so is it difficult to operate?

The power of hot springs is amazing. Milky white, strongly acidic. You should go in anyway. Highly recommended.
