Really beautiful Japanese style house. The owner was really nice and the room was super beautiful. The only downside it’s like a 10 minute walk to the bus station, but I feel like Beppu buses are OK.We took the big room with a small table and cool chairs with the tatami and futon bedThere’s 2 shared bathroom top floor and first floor and a shared shower for everyone but we never waited for any it was always free

The owner couples are very friendly and warmly welcome me as their guest. The house and rooms are seems to be reformed recently, and I especially like the clean bathrooms and the silent dryer. They don’t have their own bath, so the guests have to use the bath in front of their house, and for people who have tattoos can also walk to other onsens about 10min away where tattoos are allowed.Overall I loved staying this beautiful place, but there are no amenities (towels, sleep wears, toothbrush etc) at all, so some prior preparations are necessary to stay here much comfortably.

Old house made of timber, hosts were friendly, take note parking is limited, and at 100 yen per car per day, which was cheap. The Downside is 1) Since the house is old, the windows rattle when the wind blows. This made sleeping impossible, especially for light sleepers. 2) Steep and narrow steps, not suitable, especially for Elderly, and and ambulant friendly. 3) Toilet is extremely cold (during winter), and water takes a while to heat up. The host discouraged showering in the house and instead go to the sauna opposite to save on heating.

i don’t recommend this place because the co-host was extremely rude, they won’t let you drop off your luggage before check-in and since the walls are literally out of paper you will hear the 6am morning chatter and laughter of the host and their neighbors. the old couple may be sweet, but in my opinion they don’t really have any idea of how to really host guests… but the house is nice though.

Beautifully restored house. Loved going to the local bathhouse across the street. The owners are a super nice couple who used to have a kimono shop in Tokyo. Really friendly and welcoming!

I liked that the accommodation was clean and had the feel of a neat Japanese house! The air conditioner worked well, and the soundproofing was good, perhaps because the guests I stayed with were quiet. It's like a semi-basement bathroom with a shower inside the accommodation... Even though you can't take a 'bath', you can still shower, so I don't think you need to worry too much. However, towels or shower supplies are not provided.Everything is fine... It's too far from Beppu Station. About a 20-minute walk? If you have a lot of luggage, please make sure to get somewhere near Beppu Station. I am satisfied with the low price, but if I travel to Beppu again, I think I will stay near Beppu Station.

The house is really pretty! I've also experienced steamed old houses, and Sakachi has been remodeled, so it's much more comfortable and prettier...❤️ It's really cold in Japanese houses because the heating doesn't work well, but here they prepared an electric blanket, so I turned off the dry heater and had a good night's sleep. The neighborhood has a pretty local atmosphere (but can be a little scary at night) and the location is worth walking to Beppu Station. Enjoy a Beppu-style bath in the morning and evening like the locals do at Asami Onsen, right in front of you!♨️
