We had an incredibly pleasant time at the Yoroduya Oncen Hotel with its historic ambience. The Oncen with the two different areas, which are alternately available for men and women, offers pure relaxation for the soul.Breakfast and dinner are at the highest level. My Japanese wife clearly enjoyed her stay in a relaxed manner 🙌🏻.

I moved from Kamikochi and stayed one night to visit the hot springs. As other people have written, all the staff were very polite and pleasant! As rumored, the Momoyama bath was very splendid. If I had to say, the Shinonome bath was too ordinary and there was a big difference between it and the Momoyama bath... I thought it would be nice to be able to enjoy both baths if it had a little more elegance. The meals were especially delicious: the Shinshu beef steak for dinner, and the hot spring steamed rice and Maas miso in the morning. When I made the additional payment at checkout, I only had a 10,000 yen bill for the 1,300 yen bill, so I took out 10,300 yen, but I was told, ``That's one too many zeros!'' ”, he pointed out in a very surprised manner, and I was a little taken aback by pulling out another wallet and preparing 1,000 yen bills.I think it would have been better if you could give me 9000 yen in change...I would also like to see an improvement in the fact that the water pressure in the shower in the room's bath was very weak, with only a trickle.

The interior of the bathtub was very well made. There was no change in the temperature of the bath, which was not good. When I went to the open-air bath, I slipped on my second step.

I was very satisfied with the bath. However, it is best to avoid rooms on the top floor in the summer. Although the inside of the hotel was cool and comfortable, the air conditioner in the guest room was not working well so I had to rent a fan.

Great ryokan - very traditional and comfortable. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Delicious food. The waiters at dinner were lovely and they were also great with dietary requirements. We enjoyed the private dining rooms which offered privacy, but at the same time you could hear the other dining rooms which meant the dinner felt lively. The main outdoor bath is simply stunning - they swap the men’s and the women’s bath areas daily so everyone can experience the main bath.
