It's my second time staying at this resort during the winter season. So everything is as expected. …

We thoroughly enjoyed our third stay at the Alp Hotel. The refurbishment of the common areas has created a welcoming hub and the restaurant food was amazing - don't miss the tataki tuna! The tatami rooms are spacious and have a wonderful view across the ski fields and the outdoor onsen is magic when it's snowing. Friendly and helpful staff made for a memorable experience. We'll be back!

Staff are friendly and helpful and the accommodation was clean. Location is great, with a ski run literally at the front door. The onsen is fantastic and hardly utilised by most, which is great for those that do. There are good drying rooms for boots and storage for boards, unfortunately not for clothes which would be helpful. The only other challenge - the rooms are certainly on the smaller side. There really wasn't room to have suitcases open nor was there any storage space. Overall, a great stay

Our eighth time staying at Hotel Alp and we loved it as much as ever. Ski-in ski-out, stunning inside/outside onsen, lovely rooms with amazing views, Nanaco’s yoga sessions most evenings. We loved that there is now a la carte dining at the hotel. The Alp Bistro food was the best we had on the mountain; exquisitely presented and wonderful flavours. Thank you to Sky, Steve, Chef Naoki and of course Satomi for making our stay so special.

Restaurant only ,( not the hotel ) we had great staff, food was overpriced for the minuscule portions and meals took 2 hours and some never arrived. Would not ever go again unless someone took responsibility as our waiter never even apologised,. Took 20 mins to get a beer after ordering.Very disappointed. 2 stars but only for staff . Food was average

Location location location! The hotel is 100% ski in ski out.. to the front door! Ski out directly to the chair lift and in from the last run. It’s near the Main Street to all conveniences, bars and restaurants but you don’t really have to leave as the hotel has a beautiful indoor/ outdoor onsen, bar and restaurant with amazing food on site. The rooms are very well proportioned and clean. The size of rooms are on par with resorts all over the world, we opted for the western style room which had a sofa and also a double bed. Will be back for sure.

Granted that we were early in the season (I think we are the 2nd group of guests to check in for winter 23/24), the hotel was not ready to receive guests. I usually do not complain much but given that we prepaid PREMIUM for the large tatami room, the hotel was a huge disappointment which I hope the new owners will address for future guests. The GOOD:1) Location is fantastic, ski in/ski out to Yodal Information Centre2) Breakfast was delicious. Kudos to the Chef.3) View of the outdoor Onsen was magical. The BAD:1) There were no humidifiers in the hotel.2) The central heating was not adequate, we had to ask for extra portable heaters.3) There was no proper communication about daily room cleaning services. I do not think our sheets were changed for all 4 nights we were there.4) room was small for 4 pax. Once they lay the tatami beds, there is no walking space at all. (see picture)5) No Yukatas for children. Only for big guys who are at least 1.8m tall.6) The drying room was small and dirty, the shelves were not cleaned at all. Cannot dry your jackets7) No proper vending machines, only 1 that dispenses beerThe UGLY:1) The room was full of Stink bugs when we checked in. I caught about 20 of them. Hotel's response was " they don't bite, you just need to catch them and not squeeze them or else they stink"2) The Onsen amenities were horrendous. they only provide cotton buds & razors. (no tissue, toothbrush, soap, drinking water, chairs in ladies room). Don't think it was cleaned daily when we were there. lockers were dirty and does not lock. The hotel has huge potential given the recent news about turning Myoko into a big ski destination. It is quaint, not too big and in a good location. If you want to charge premium, you have to provide premium.
